Our stay was pleasant, and the Palmetto is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. The location was very convenient and within walking distance to points of interest and restaurants, the bed was very comfortable, and the complementary breakfast was tasty. However, the description on the website is a bit misleading. First, we paid a premium for a balcony only to find it was only about 1 foot deep and wasn't even useful for letting in fresh air since it was facing a fairly busy street. Second, the "nearby" gym is a 45 minute walk. Third, there is no restaurant. The bar serves appetizer food, but we were decidedly unimpressed with the charcuterie plate which came with about 8 cubes of cheddar and pepper jack rather than the fancier bits of cheese pictured on their website menu. Finally, while the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, the carpets were worn and stained and the ottoman in the room (no chair) appeared to have had something spilled all over it. The Palmetto was nice enough, but there were several other options that sounded as nice and were significantly less expensive We chose the Palmetto over the others because of the balcony and the gym access, both of which turned out to be a bust. In light of that, while I won't rule out staying at the Palmetto again, I will look at other hotels.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Palmetto over the holidays. The hotel is clean, well appointed, and was beautifully decorated. The breakfast in the morning was a great perk. The selections are limited but the food offered was delicious. We also enjoyed the lobby bar for a nice after dinner cocktail. We found the location to be very convenient and we were able to walk to the market, restaurants, and the waterfront easily. We would stay here again given the opportunity.

Negative: Room was in good condition but could hear people in the hall way all the time and from above us and in the walls. Positive: Staff was super friendly. Negative: breakfast is only a couple pastries, and coffee. Positive: The hotel is close to everything (within walking distance) Negative: have to park in a public parking deck or use valet. Only options.

Room 212 is a noisy nightmare. There is some sort of industrial fan or motor that blows/whirs/hums 23 hours a day. One curtain was inoperable. The thermostat had to be turned off, as it would never stop heating.

Everything was amazing! The check in and valet processes were smooth and the complimentary cocktail was a great touch. I don’t typically go to a hotel’s bar, but the cocktail was so good that I had to check it out. Not only was the bartender attentive and kind, she also makes a killer drink! The interior design was also breathtaking and has made me consider redoing a few rooms in my home! There are so many amazing things about the Palmetto, but these parts all stood out to me.
