Typical old lodge building in Canterbury so expect and old building. Excellent location right in middle of high street, but off to the side in a street so not too noisy. Sanjeewa the hotel manager was excellent and could not be more helpful.

Me and my wife stayed at the hotel for 5days. Sanjeewa was really nice and helpful, everyday he is checking on the guest for breakfasts and always asking if we need something. If we back to the Canterbury, we might stay here again.

Really friendly staff. Customer service was excellent. The rooms are quite compact but are well suited to single or two-night stays in the city. The location is right in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of the museum and Marlowe theatre.

The hotel is in a great location and the solo member of staff is friendly and helpful and works hard. The hotel itself, however, is tired and poorly maintained. It was a cramped room, the shower was held up by a bit of plastic, and there was hardly any water from it. The bathroom was tiny. For a quick cheap night it’s passable, but any longer than that would not be recommended.
