Beds are metal and have these noisy metal side baskets attached to them and it's just basic bunk beds so no privacy or isolation. My bed still had a crumpled sheet on it so I don't think it was attended to before I got in it. Vast hallways of rooms. No outlets near the beds so some people had outstretch cords for laptops to navigate. Bathrooms are in the room, but partly because you don't get a towel with your sheets, no one used the shower. The only plus was that these mostly college age kids seemed to be having a great time at the breakfast downstairs. (Cereal, juice, and automated pancake machines). I just wanted to not far from the train, but I wouldn't book it again as a single traveler.

We stayed at this hostel in December and unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience: we were bitten by some insects during the night. The team reassured us that it wasn’t bed bugs, but it was still quite stressful. On the positive side, the staff reacted very quickly and professionally — they moved us to another room straight away and even provided special anti-bed-bug bedding (I didn’t even know such a thing existed!). In the new room everything was fine and we had no further bites. However, the situation scared us so much that when we returned home we had to steam-treat all our textiles, just in case. I really appreciate the hotel’s support and responsiveness, but it was definitely a worrying experience.

It’s basic as described. They can improve the check-in process, they have self check-in kiosks but don’t recognize hotels.com reservation numbers. The details needed could have been e-mailed me to fill in instead on the spot. I saw others going to breakfast. Wasn’t told if is included with mine or not.

Room was ok. There were a bunch of students running riot on my corridor every night. They were running all over the place and knocking on every room in the corridor at 10pm. I complained but nothing was done by security. It was disgraceful after paying so much for a hotel. The teachers had no control over them and will never use them again. Thy spoilt my time at the hotel. Hope you do something about it and warn others and tell the hotel as will never recommend this place. Staff were useless even at check-in

This was an ok place to stay not far from Berlin central station. However, quite costly on this particular night. Staff were not friendly, room was not clean and only one bathroom available with a toilet for 8 people. I’ve stayed in similar places in Germany which were much cleaner with better facilities.

Pokoj byl sprzatany tylko na zyczenie, reczniki wymieniane rowniez na zyczenie. Pokoj naprawde maly, telewizor byl ale nie dzialal, internet ok. Pracownicy zbyt zajeci, zeby pytac sie o cokolwiek. Zawsze wybieramy sniadanie w hotelu, tutaj jednak zrezygnowalismy. Jedynym plusem byla odleglosc do glownego dworca i bliska odleglosc do centrum Berlina.

Overall A&O represents the modern hostel, cheap accommodation, but no spirit. They haven’t updated their self-check in to accommodate Expedia which would have helped them out as they were swamped at check- in, but the staff on hand seemed to manage. Their common area washroom was under repair and the shower head in my bathroom shower could only point to the wall and nowhere else. Everything else was good though, but don’t expect to meet a lot of people as they don’t push that aspect a lot.

Stated at the a&o Berlin Hauptbahnhof from September 19 - 21 for the Berlin Marathon. They have a self-check in process using kiosk when you enter. This option did not work for me as the Expedia number and that which was on my Expedia confirmation were different. A member of the staff assisted me with checking in via the Kiosk and activating my door key. I was not satisfied with the cleanliness of the room that was reserved and my request to switch the room was met with satisfaction. The room was very clean and my stay from that moment was exceptional. During my stay, I utilized local options at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof Station. I also utilized the supermarket Kaufland to buy groceries to refrigerate. Most items that I needed were walking distance(up to 3 mile walking), but transportion is accessible, if preferable. Floor 0(Ground Floor) has a nice sitting area and there is food to order if needed. Breakfast if located on Floor -1(Basement) and options from whole grains(breads/roll), protein(meats), cereal, coffee, tea, juices are offered. I utilized the breakfast and a combination of my own food during my stay to meet my nutritional needs. I was able to utilize the laundry before leaving. Laundry detergent was provided by the front desk and an app is needed to start the wash and dryer. The staff were friendly and answered any questions that I had. The occupants of the room were all delightful. The neighborhood around the area felt safe, even at night.
