Day 2: Bukit Peninsula and Uluwatu

For the next few days, you’ll be enjoying some time exploring nature in Bukit Peninsula and Uluwatu.

• A 15-minute drive southeast of Jimbaran is Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. The statue of the Hindu god Vishnu is one of Southeast Asia’s tallest landmarks
• Go for a swim at Padang Padang beach, and you’ll quickly learn why it’s a popular movie set location
• Blue Point Beach is great for watching professional surfers
• Climb down hundreds of stairs to reach the remote Nyang Nyang Beach
• Visit Melasti Beach near the village of Ungasan
• Uluwatu Temple is one of Bali’s monkey-filled, sacred sea temples, and we recommend staying through the evening for the Kecak and Fire Dance performance

Where to stay: Float in the clifftop infinity pool at Blue Point Bay Villas and Spa, or choose the family-friendly Uluwatu Cottages, which offer a free buffet breakfast.

Day 4: Seminyak and Canggu

It will take just under an hour to reach Seminyak from Uluwatu. On Day 5, you’ll be taking a short daytrip (only a 30 min drive) to the resort village of Canggu.

• Jalan Laksmana, Seminyak’s main fashion and dining street
• Theatre Art Gallery and Nyaman Gallery
• Swim in the infinity pool with an ocean view at the famous Potato Head Beach Club 
• Shop in the open-air market at Seminyak Square
• Spend the evening at restaurants and bars along Double Six Beach

These are our recommendations for your trip to Canggu:

• Pura Tanah Lot—an ancient Hindu temple
• Batu Bolong temple
• Finn’s Recreation Club 
• Love Anchor, a small arts and craft bazaar
• Explore Canggu’s dining scene and beach clubs

Where to stay: Consider W Bali – Seminyak, which has a bar on the beach. Or, have your own private villa at The Dusan.

Transportation: It’s possible to walk to many attractions in Seminyak from central hotels. Hop in a taxi if your feet get tired!

Day 6: Ubud

• Head to Ubud Monkey Forest to see the hundreds of long-tailed macaques, but beware--the monkeys are known to snatch things from visitors
• Tegallalang Rice Terrace
• Watch traditional dance performances at Ubud Royal Palace
• Ubud Art Market
• Book a guided hike up Mount Batur This can be an all-day adventure which includes a coffee plantation tour and a soak in hot springs
• Book a Balinese cooking class at an organic farm

Where to stay: Hotels in the center of Ubud include Champlung Sari Hotel Ubud, located within an easy walk to restaurants. If you want to stay out of town, choose The Kayon Resort by Pramana, set in a lush tropical rainforest and featuring private Balinese cooking lessons and free morning yoga sessions.

Transportation: The center of Ubud is a walkable destination. However, you’ll need the car to explore further afield.

Day 10: Denpasar

It’s only a 30-minute taxi or drive southwest from Sanur to the airport for your flight home, so you can enjoy a little more time at the beach. Alternatively, head early to Denpasar to discover some of its historic attractions, including the Bali Museum, Puputan Square and Pura Agung Jagatnatha, a landmark temple.
