This was my second stay here, and overall, everything went well, from the check-in process and comfortable stay to the good selection of breakfast and great service throughout. However, on the last night, things took a disappointing turn. We were informed downstairs that the rooftop bar was still open, but when we went up, the staff were already closing and spoke to us quite rudely. The most disappointing part was during check-out. We entrusted the front office staff with storing important medications, which needed to be kept frozen. Unfortunately, they stored them in a cooler instead of a freezer, potentially compromising their effectiveness. Given the high cost of these medications, this was very upsetting.

Welcoming city

Having stayed in several Doubletree hotels,this one was no exception in that,from the start,we were made to feel welcome Always greeted with a smile and there were 3 girls in particular who would serve us a coffee or a drink in the smaller bar after dinner who were especially kind. I know one was called Nadia and the other one was still at college but keen to get into hospitality and open her own bar one day .The third was a lovely small girl of chinese descent i think. Really the kind of people you want to see at front of house when you come in from the rain. All in all a wonderful city well worth a visit.

A standard 4* hotel

We rate the hotel as standard 4*. The room 708 is relatively small though for the high price we paid. It has only a partial view on the river. The room was clean. The furniture is very basic: we have a king bed room with only one chair to seat! The 2nd person has to sit on a stool: this is not acceptable as we have booked for 6 nights (01-07 Sep 2025) with an average price > 6 * 560 cad (this includes a reward night discount of hotels.com). The wardrobe is ridiculously tiny: we don’t have enough space to hang our clothes! Same remark for the bathroom, which is clean but small, with not enough space to hang the towels! In summary, i think it’s worth booking this hotel for a price around 200-300cad/night. For more than 550cad, one should find better hotel in Amsterdam. Just in front of the hotel we have the Sea Palace restaurant, which is a true tourist trap (very expensive meals with basic fast food quality)!

This was our second stay at Double Three Central Train Station Amsterdam. The room was very modern and clean, the view from the room fantastic, very walkable location to everything. BUT our coffee machine didn’t work, there are was no shower wash in the shower, the draining was very slow. We tried the restaurant - the salad with grilled veggies was a disaster: huge pile of bulgur and minuscular bits of veggies. Not good.
