Hotel and spas in Amapas
What should I bring to a spa hotel?Spending time at a spa hotel is all about relaxing and leaving the world behind, so pack clothes that are comfy, light and easy to slip in and out of. Track pants and T-shirts are great options. Toweling robes and slippers are common spa attire, but these are usually supplied by the hotel. Thinking of going for a swim or limbering up with a yoga class or two? Squeeze some workout gear, sports shoes and a swimsuit in your bag too. If your hotel has a restaurant on-site, see if dress codes apply — you may need to bring something fancy to wear to dinner.

Hotel Tropicana - Near Olas Altas Street
4/5 Good
"I’d like to start by explaining why I gave this stay a 4-star review. Unfortunately, we did encounter roaches—there were some in the bathroom and one on the bedroom wall. We didn’t notice them our first night, but by the second night, they had appeared. I also noticed that we were staying in the older part of the building. Since it was my first time staying there, I wasn’t aware that there was a newer, nicer section or that it might have been an option. Since we were only there for two nights, I didn’t make a big deal about it and simply mentioned it to the very nice lady at the checkout counter. There was also an older gentleman working at the bar who was a bit rude. Maybe he was just having a bad morning, but everyone else we interacted with was nice for the most part. That being said, the location was great! There are two pools and easy access to the beach, which were definite highlights. We didn’t eat at the resort, so I can’t comment on the food. I would definitely stay here again, but next time I would specifically ask to stay on the newer side of the property. Hopefully, that section doesn’t have the same issue with roaches. One thing I really appreciated was how they handled my friend’s forgotten ID. She left it in the room safe, and since we have a friend who lives in the area, we asked her to stop by and see if she could retrieve it. The staff actually gave it to her, which meant a lot to us and showed a level of trust and helpfulness that I really appreciate"
