My recent stay was not as promised. The location that was advertised was completely wrong. The actual pin and address in the website is wrong. The location promised has easy access to the beach. In reality, the true location has no access at all. In fact the beach is several kilometers away. This also made finding the property extremely difficult. We had to stop at multiple locations to ask locals.
The booking promised restaurants nearby. This also was not the case.
The check-in procedure was horrible and incorrect. The check-in instructions mentioned receiving a QR code to show the guards at the front gate, but never explained how to get the QR code.
The house was clean and was very nice. The air conditioning worked well. The hot water worked well. The beds were comfortable. However, there was not enough toiletries. There was not enough soap or shampoo. We ended up buying our own soap, shampoo and toilet paper. And there is no potable water. That would’ve been nice to know beforehand.
We would not have paid that much money for the property, had we known correct details.
I have attached photos of the screenshots. You can see that the red heart in the bottom left-hand corner is nowhere close to Akumal Bay.
