Dormero is modern hotel for younger people. Has big rooms and excellent service. Also has a nice neighbourhood. Restaurant very good! My burger was a real quality meal. You can play also socker table :)
This hotel has recently been branded as a Dormero Property - I stayed there for three nights and the service is not good. On day two I woke to no hot water in the bathroom- after calling down three times and waiting some 20 minutes I had no choice but to go to work with a cold shower. I complained but no one from the management had the courtesy to apologise.I was later told that the manager was not around until the afternoon but another colleague. told me there was a manager available in the morning. The hotel also has a 1970's disco type look - all very red and black - it's all new but looks very dated. The breakfast area was over-run with large groups of tourists visiting which meant for queues for the self service food areas. There is one poor lady who works like crazy to keep everything working. I felt sorry for her as she was obviously doing her best but was clearly under staffed to cope with the number of customers. They also play very loud music which means you can hardly have a conversation. The air conditioning is very noisy and not that effective - the main road outside is also very noisy so if you open the window for fresh air you compete with traffic. As other have commented the air in the hotel is dreadful - far too hot and stale The hotel and Brand make big thing about their beds but they are very large and high and dominate the room leaving little space to move around. I was afraid of falling off it when sleeping and hurting myself The whole thing is lacking in effective management and proper staffing - its a very poorly executed concept and more irritating as it is in the land of world class hotel management I cannot recommend and would avoid
AVOID THIS HOTEL until they have sorted out their problems and can give good service! I checked in at almost midnight: 23:55pm The desk clerk was to program a wake up call for 7am, but when it didn't happen, I called the front desk. They said the wake up call was scheduled for 8am! My international flight was at 10am, so I had to scramble! The bathroom sink would not drain from the night before. Calling the front desk the morning attendant said she would have someone from housekeeping come up right away. 45 minutes later when I checked out, no one had come! The air conditioning, although set low was only cooling the room half a degree. The room was HOT, and the window in the room only tilts a few inches for ventilation. It did nothing to cool the room. The bed was too puffy and felt sloping near the edges, so I felt like I would slide off if too close to the side. The 2 pillows on the bed were very high and spungy. There was no other pillow option to choose from, so I folded the bath towel to sleep on. Since the room was too hot, I wasn't using the duvet anyway, and placed a corner of it on the bath towel to give it some softness. When I asked the receptionist if she would give some credit for all my problems, she said she could not because I had booked through Expedia. When I booked with Expedia I was told the Zurich hotel was under new management but the new owners would honor my booking. The hotel has a lobby sign now for the Dor Mero hotel. When I returned home, I had an additional charge of $117.00 for the hotel room which had already been paid for 11 months ago with Expedia. They had charged more money for the room!!! I would avoid this hotel.
This hotel will be very good once the renos are done. But sadly the time of staying it was very hot and the air conditioning was not working They did their best supplying us with little personal fans but it was still hot. Our room was a decent size and nicely fitted out. The bed was super comfy and made really well. The room had the biggest tv I have seen in a hotel Breakfast was good. It is also very convenient to the train station to catch the train to Zurich .I would stay here again if I needed a hotel close to the airport
This hotel was chosen by Cosmostour as the last night of a Switzerland tour on 14/6/2019 before the tour ends. The hotel is under renovation, my room has a cable lying on the floor and there is no chair to sit down. To sit down I have to perform a (high) jump onto the bed. Other tour members having similar rooms with identical issues however there is nothing the staff in the reception can do. This hotel is not far from the airport however there is no shuttle bus so I have to make my own way to the airport. I just couldn't work out why this hotel accepted guests when the rooms are not ready.
As a regular visitor to the Zurich area, I generally stay in an airport hotel for my first night, as my flight is late, and my final destination an hour away. I have found the NH in Glattbrugg very pleasant, and very convenient, so I booked again for this stay. Or so I thought... My first inkling of an issue was, having arrived an hour late due to flight delays, was that there was no NH Shuttle Bus mentioned on the airport timetable. I went to airport information to be told ‘NH Hotel has closed’. PANIC!!! But then he said there was another company in there. I rang the number on my booking to be told that they did have a booking and were expecting me. At least I had a room for the night. Arriving at the hotel I was checked in by a pleasant young man in a casual shirt and red braces. Seems the splash of red is the brand image of the new hotel group (DORMERO). Not quite the smart professional look I had become used to with the extremely polished staff from NH. Room was as before, spacious and comfortable. Some useful additions to the complimentary toiletries (toothbrush, razor, ladies’ hygiene products) in addition to a hair and bath wash, and a bar of soap. I was less impressed by the complimentary condom. It’s not really the brand value I’m looking for in a business hotel There was a small selection of teas and (decaf only) coffee but the kettle was sadly missing. I could have asked reception to send one up, but it was late and I was tired so didn’t bother. I’m a creature of habit, and i found the experience really quite stressful. In reality the rooms are no different to before but the worry of having a booking accepted in the name of a hotel which had been closed since January 1st, and no transport from the airport has really put me off.
