Hotel Emporio Zacatecas is in a very convenient location close to major attractions and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. In addition to the location, the hotel's staff is very nice and friendly. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
Hope this helps, I’m a Hotel owner myself. We booked here for the weekend of the Festival Cultural Zacatecas, 2 suites @ $250+ Great location in a beautiful 19th Century building, on the outside!! The fest was just outside our balcony Those are the good points. Inside we found mediocre interiors 3 star rooms, no air-conditioners (just ceiling fans), even the hair dryer was cheap. service was pretty mediocre as well. Breakfast was not included in the fare and it was mediocre as well, not inexpensive for Zacatecas standards. It has a lot of potential but bad management, I would not recommend it at this price point in this city. We visited other Hotels in the area, les money, much better ambiance and style. Did not visited their suites. Hotel del Jobito and others.
Have room 123 currently, so I have "my own" terasse, wonderfull. Down here, all is nice and the hotel has all I like. A short walk is good enough to bring me to my favorite places and restaurants. The staff is friendly and do their best. A bit more english speeking will be nice. I will come again.
The historic center of Zacatecas is a UNESCO World Heritage place, and Hotel Emporio, with its pink cantera stone carved facade, and iron wrought balconies, is in the heart of it. It´s right in front of the Governor´s Palace, next to the Cathedral. It has a courtyard known as the "Hundred windows patio" that´s used as an extension to the restaurant, when the hotel is full. Our room faced the Palace and was very roomy, with a king size firm bed, a lounge and 2 TVs. The bathroom was small, compared with the rest of the room, with an outside washbasin. The hairdryer was powerful, but overheated fast. The mini bar was empty, so bring your own refreshments. There was a fan over the bed and the windows had wooden shutters. The breakfast buffet has many choices and is crowded on Sunday, the food is good but the pianist, that morning, was really bad.
My family lives in Mexico City and decided to visit Zacatecas for Christmas. My husband and I wanted to make this trip more memorable for them and decided to book rooms in a beautiful hotel. Based on the reviews, Hotel Emporio is ranked #1. I then contacted the hotel. Everyone from the hotel was extremely polite, and I was especially delighted to have Miss Sarai Marrufo assist me from the beginning to the end of the reservation process. She was extremely patient with me and helped me to choose the best options for my family. She gave me a 5* hotel attention to detail. I ended up booking two rooms for 4 people. My family had the best time in Zacatecas. They loved everything about the hotel; the rooms, the views, breakfast, location, staff, etc. My family loved Zacatecas and the hotel so much that I would love to go there with my husband. If you would like to treat your family or yourself, in a beautiful place in Mexico, hotel Emporio will make your trip special! Thanks a lot Miss Sarai Marrufo!!!
Perfect location. Across from the Catedral. Very nice hotel. Super amenities with excellent staff. Only stayed a night as a stop over but was impressed with their attention to the guest. Requested coffee and sweet bread at 11:00 pm an we’re pleasantly surprised with fresh Mexican sweet bread (conchas).
I spent a couple of days for business and took the family with and did not fail to visit Zacatecas and stay in this Hotel, not only it offers all the great view of historic downtown but the Hotel has all great amenities like big clean rooms, the bar and patio. Breakfast is great to start out to walk around historic downtown and get a whole bunch of souvenirs and get back and relax and since outside is the Cathedral at night there is a whole bunch of attractions just outside the door can't get better than that. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The only problem is the Parking Lot it is very limited.
The hotel was really nice and clean , the attention and service from the staff was excellent, couldn't ask for better service . perfect location and perfect price . The view from the balcony of the cathedral and cerro de la Buffa just beautiful .
I loved the park across the street for the simple relaxation of reading a chapter from my book or local people watching... Most of the front desk staff do not speak very good English (except for one); I had to read from google translate for them to understand me. I loved lunch at the hotel restaurant; however, dinner wasn’t as exceptional as had hoped (after the delicious lunch)....maybe it was a hit n miss day (the NY steak was not a good choice). The bull ring view and the lower level bar is lovely. I’d go back again...Zacatecas is a beautiful place and worthy of more visits (not well known by Americans...which I love—the last thing I want is going to a World Heritage UNESCO place and being surrounded by Americans from home.
At a first glance it seems quite comfortable and you would think you chose the right place to rest, but in reality is overrated, check in wasn't nice, without a smile. Expedia offered a "secret price" benefit and misteriously the price per night was the same as the one offered to me the day I arrived and they didn't seem to care. Room clean but not worthy the price because we discovered better hotels in the area. Not recommended at all.
