Our room had a balcony with a nice view of La Bufa and the town below it. The room had a good mini-split which kept the room comfortable. Internet access was very good, we could view Netflix. Breakfast, if included is good, the restaurant attached to the hotel is so-so. The tram has not run since 2016 and I think this hotel and restaurant might be feeling the pinch with reduced visitation. The staff was helpful, rooms clean and functional. The hotel has done a very good job with signage - it's easy to find and not exactly where Garmin says it is.
This is a hotel located on the high part of the city, so if you have no car, be aware you need to walk a lot on a high hill. Rooms are very spacious, the bathroom is clean and roomy, the beds are not very comfortable. You need to walk a lot to get in to your room, the parking lot is great, but it is very far from the rooms, so be prepared to walk a lot. The personnel is very rude and not polite. I think i will not return to this hotel, there are better hotels in town with the same prices. It is very very close to the Teleferico (skyway)
The rooms are nice enough, and we loved the location for being so close to the city center, BUT, it seems that this is the place where federal cops stay in, we would have appreciatted a heads up from the hotel, but they never mentioned this little fact. When my family and I arrived there, we were stared at by more than, and I am not exxagerating in the least, 30 federal cops all gatheres around outside in the parking lot and in the front entrance, they were all armed of course and gave an intimidating vibe which made us very uncomfortable because they were there night and day, day and night just staring at the guests. For this reason, we would not return here, which is a shame cause the hotel would have been enjoyable had this not been a problem.
Very modern decorated hotel located on a high point, but five blocks from down town Zacatecas. Exelent vews from all the city close to the mines and with an access point to the teleférico (tramway). Hotel is on a big property and have very nice gardens inside full of fruit trees and flowers. Exelent spots to relax before each day activity. The service is profecional and efficient and the food at the restaurant is good with native dishes from the area. The only reason why I am not giving an Exelent calificación, is because the tramway was not working and they should have let me know when i book the room at the hotel, so I am kind of desapointed with the Web site and also with the hotel for not letting me know about it. One of the main a traction of Zacatecas is its tramway and unfortunately, it was close to be upgraded. Any way, maybe next time, but overall exelent place to stay!!!
Staying in Zacatecas for a week so choose this hotel as it had a pool and is right on the highway to drive to Frenillo. So the staff do not speak much English - But they tried so thanks for this. My room was quite cold and the heating was not fantastic, also quite loud as the hallways had wooden floors so is noisy! Internet would drop out quite often, could not get the Jacuzzi to work Apart from that is a good fun place to stay.Clean & big rooms. Fresh bottles of water and coffee daily, maid service excellent. Breakfast superb - all freshly made! Staff real friendly, dry cleaning service amazing - 6 hours turn around time. Nice clean pool. So I would stay again - But note the above Is an experience to stay here. :-)
We stayed in this hotel when we came for a wedding. The room was large and comfortable, not luxurious but nice and clean. It was very quiet, no problem with noise at all. There was also a nice patio area for each room. The restaurant was pretty and had a breakfast buffet that was included, and was very good with a lot of choices including eggs made to order. It was also nice that we could walk into town from there. We would stay here again.
Our stay with Hotel Baruk Teleferico y Mina exceeded our expectations. The courteous staff and breath taking views contributed to a relaxing weekend in the beautiful city of Zacatecas. The rooms were well kept and very spacious. The hotel couldn't be in a more desirable area; it is near all of Zacatecas' main attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next visit.
We arrived for the folkloradia in July 2016,when we arrived we had to wait already 1 hour before getting our rooms. For breakfast the other morning,we were seated in some kind of "school cantine" with very poor service and not a lot of food varities... we were a bit treated as 3rd class students...a shame!!!! For the rest: the rooms are ok,but we had to sleep with 5 persons in 2 beds (140 cm large) and the 5th person got a camping matraze on the floor... that's not 5 stars, that's really a shame for the hotel... then, the shower was clogged, the toilet was clogged and we had no warm water the first 2 days. Also the fitness room is very very small and you have 3 machines for cardio and some free weights and that's it.... I think this hotel is only 2 stars not more and not worth the money...even the manager of the hotel was not able to solve any problem to provide us a minimum of comfort!!! I will definitly not recommend this hotel if you come to zacatecas !
no warm water, toilets are blocked, no organisation the hotel is lying such a bad hotel i have never been before to a place where they wer so unfriendly they don't even understand english so you better have to learn spanish before you come here
The service at this hotel was the worst, and is not at all representative of the hospitable and friendly people of Zacatecas. The view is nice, but not worth having to put up with the faces of clearly unhappy people who work at this hotel. The hotel is also FLOODED with Mexican Federal Police who apparently shares the same space as this hotel and who apparently house these people as well... the whole thing was quite strange. The Federal Police, carrying their massive machine guns, did not give me a feeling of comfort or tranquility as I'm walking by them with my two year old son. The housekeeper did not clean our room, they just simply forgot. The service at the hotel restaurant was hoooorrrrible, and even though breakfast buffet is from 6am to 10:30am, they don't have all the food out until around 10. So if you are there at 8am, forget about having bread, or many of the foods they have "planned" to offer. I didn't have my wallet and wanted to order food for my son who was starving, while my husband was in the city. The restaurant workers refused to serve me anything since I couldn't pay for it even though I was a guest at the hotel. The looked at me and questioned me as I was just trying to eat for free and leave without paying. The rooms are noisy, smelly, and the curtains didn't close so the fluorescent light that they would turn on at night would light up our room at night. I absolutely love Zacatecas, I will definitely be back but I refuse to ever come back to this hotel. NO THANKS! They should learn about customer service from local restaurants and the local people.
