The triple was large enough for our family of 4 (2 small children). The harbour view was very nice and worth the extra money. The location was walkable from Kannai station JR. Plus there is a great soba restaurant about 4 buildings away (look on google maps).
I stayed recently for 2 nights with my husband and teen daughter. We had a room on the 9th floor overlooking the harbour. Check-in was efficient, the room and facilities were good. We enjoyed a nice buffet breakfast with Western and Japanese options in the restaurant on the top floor, with a view of the waterfront. The location is a winner - close to subway, the baseball stadium, cruise port and Chinatown. On the final morning, we checked out and left our luggage at reception while we further explored the area. One of the errands was to get a refund on our baseball tickets as the game on the previous night had been cancelled due to rain. We returned to the hotel reception desk when we discovered I had thrown the tickets in error, into the rubbish bin in our room. Reception contacted housekeeping. The room had been already cleaned. But in true Japanese style, not much time elapsed before the tickets were located. We were so grateful.
I loved this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, offering excellent service. Location is just a few minutes walk to Chinatown. Room was large, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large. In-room wifi worked great and Netflix was always welcome, haha. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from subway station. I would stay here again in a second.
Nice and quiet hotel in good location. Friendly staff and very cooperative as much as the English will help, clean room which is reasonable in size and equipped with all the basic needs. I got a room on the 10 floor with Harbor view which was amazing, the breakfast buffet was almost good having the western and Japanese items. The nearest Metro station is 5 minutes walking distance which you can go to Yokohama central station in 3 minutes and to central Tokyo in 30 minutes.
You would think for $250 per night you might get almost everything a hotel would be expected to offer. MMM, not here. The room was spacious and I did ask for a bay view, which I received and the breakfast was buffet style but had a great variety that would satisfy most people. Those are the good points. Now for the rest. The walls were scuffed, stained and soiled. The toilet has not been cleaned under the rim for who knows how long. But the worst thing? As a business traveler, who speaks only English, to relax before going to bed you would expect you could watch a movie, catch up on the news or check the weather. Not at this hotel. All of the channels are in Japanese. Even the pay per view selections are all in Japanese. Also the remote control does not work properly for pay per view even if you could watch these in English. They say they are ready for the 2020 Olympics. Not by a long shot. There are far better hotels to spend your money. I suggest you do not spend it here.
This hotel is perfectly placed overlooking a beautiful park and the harbour. It's the second time we've stayed here. The rooms aren't overly large but they are bigger than a lot of hotels in Japan and adequate. It's reasonably priced and worth the extra for the harbour view. It's not ultra-modern, but it's really homely. It's getting old but it's very clean. It's close to Chinatown and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. It's a little walk to the station. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome and we will definitely stay here again.
hotel location is quite near the Yokoshima Ship Terminal, only 10 mins walk from the hotel. Restaurant is nice, and breakfast has many choice. But far away from the understand station. Need to take taxi to get there.
We picked the Monterey because it is in walking distance to the Pier and we were going on a cruise after a few days. The Monterey is very nice, our room a little small but fine. The staff were a bit limited in English but we all got by with friendly smiles. Breakfast good. Didn't eat in the evenings at the hotel but staff pointed us to a nearby authentic Japanese restaurant which was delicious and the staff extra great, absolutely lovely.
Couldn't get a non smoking area so have to accept for 3 nights. We got corner room which is slightly better. Comfortable & cosy if the air is smoke less! The hotel is convenient to anywhere. Ideal for travelling by train though need to walk a bit. One night we walk from Yokohama Landmark Tower to our hotel. Lovely & Cool night. Generally hotel service is good. Try to get non-smoking room next time!
I liked everything about this hotel, except for one thing: the tobacco smell in the room. I reserved a non-smoking room, but unfortunately it was quite smelly. This is quite exceptionally nowadays in Japan, so it was a big disappointment. Even more so in the light that it is otherwise a very good hotel. Room was spacious, and clean, staff were friendly, nice view on the sea, and price was quite reasonable. It seems that the floor I stayed on was not a smoke-free floor, because it already was smelly, right after exciting the elevator. I will never stay here again, because of the smell, unfortunately.
