Our thanks to the whole team at Residence Inn by Marriott. When our home experienced water damage, we were long-term guests. Theresa at breakfast, and Cynthia at the evening social, especially made us feel welcome, and tremendously reduced our stress. It was a pleasure having an opportunity to get to know you. Our thanks to the whole team for the thoughtful and thorough work that you do. You really made a difficult time easier for us!

This was a good place to stay with our dog while visiting our son at Wake Forest. The rooms were very spacious with a nice kitchen/dining/office area. The decor was a little tired but not disgustingly so and that is always an issue with a dog-friendly hotel. Coffee was great and breakfast was fantastic. Service was always wonderful. The breakfast ladies were extremely friendly and helpful and there were plenty of choices (eggs, egg whites, sausage, waffles, 1 fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries) and there always seemed to be enough seating. There was a dog walking trail but as far as I could tell, it was down a very steep hill so we didn't use it. Even though the hotel is on a busy street, there was enough green space in the courtyard and around the edges of the parking lot to walk the dog. People (or the hotel) seemed to be good about cleaning up after their dogs (didn't see any poops around) but not every dog owner was considerate about trying to keep their dogs from bothering others. We were extremely annoyed when the people above us left their dog(s) in the room alone and the dogs barked for over 3 hours straight. Hotel staff was responsive but were unable to reach the dog owners. There are a couple of restaurants nearby (Dunkin Donuts, Dominos and the very good North Point Grill) which could be walked to, but other than that, you'll be driving as you are hemmed in by busy roads with no sidewalks. It is a very quick drive to Wake Forest.

I was here visiting may ill father and had a late check-in on Friday March 16, 2018. My 1 and only complaint was at that moment. A "friend" of the gal checking me in came in right after I arrived and uncomfortably was hanging out next to me over the counter sipping his soda while I was checking in. I didn't say anything at the time, because I thought he was another guest. It wasn't until I completed checking in that I realized it was her friend. I wish he had stood back and waited for us to finish. That being said, the room was decent and then next morning the breakfast ladies impressed the heck out of me! Precious was beyond sweet and helpful and the next morning I was the first person to breakfast and got to interact with all of them. Yolanda, Theresa and Cynthia were also just as sweet and helpful as Precious!

The service at this location is GREAT!! The ladies in the dining area during breakfast are AWESOME! They go above and beyond to make sure we are well taken care of. We come from Atlanta on holidays to visit family and we always choose this location because of the service. The cleaning staff is always very helpful as well A big shout out to Theresa, Precious, Cynthia and Yolanda!! They always make us feel so at home. I feel like we should tip them but there’s no container to leave a tip. They certainly deserve it!

I came along with my husband who was working down here for the week. The breakfast buffet was a good way to start the day, lots of different choices. I especially liked the turkey sausage ! The morning ladies (Precious, Yolanda and Theresa) were very nice and very accommodating. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6 - 7:30pm Cynthia mans the buffet room for wine, beer and happy hour food. Sweet treats and good food and great staff. The room was nice but most importantly the bed was very comfortable (nice and firm). I would definitely come back again if my husband has to travel down here.

I could take .5 points off because of dust in the vents in my bathroom but I just can’t. The check-in with Shareah (think that’s her name) to the cookies and brownies at the front desk, to the very spacious room and the location to WFU, I couldn’t have picked a better choice. I booked with my AAA rate but since I was going to WFU, Shareah gave us the Wake Forest Univ. rate. College is expensive and every little bit of savings helps tremendously. Breakfast: Nice assortment, very clean. I wasn’t too hungry but I had an English muffin a little bit of eggs and tea. Theresa who was the hostess in the room, she is a GODSEND. Many families were there visiting Wake Forest and she was giving words of encouragement, praying with people, serving people... right now my son is waiting for an answer from Wake Forest. Theresa prayed and gave us such a pep talk that even if Wake Forest doesn’t work out, we know that God has another plan. My son smiled a big smile and I did too. We made our sign of the cross, hugged Ms Theresa and made our way over to Wake Forest which is about a 8 min drive. If our son makes it in, and the money is right, we will definitely be back to this hotel. Marriott, thank you for hiring a team of awesome people.

What a wonderful pick for our anniversary. We wanted a quiet, cozy location to celebrate our anniversary. Residence Inn Winston-Salem University Area was perfect. There is shopping, restaurants, and attractions near this location for when we wanted to venture out. But the breakfast staff was the highlight of my stay. Ms. Cynthia, Ms. Precious, Ms. Theresa, and Ms. Yolanda are incredibly personable and friendly, yet very professional. Most people you meet are on one end of the spectrum, but they all have an amazing back at sticking the perfect balance. The most pleasant and accommodating people I've have the pleasure of meeting in a while. I will assuredly be back for my birthday weekend. The trip from Fayetteville was well worth it. Marriott is extremely fortunate to have these ladies as team members, I hope they value them.

We stayed at this hotel for one night, 3/13/18. All of the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We especially enjoyed the Complimentary wine, salad and hamburgers grilled outside, which was featured as a Tuesday night special. Cynthia and Jackie were so friendly and provided excellent service. The room was very clean and the outside landscape was well maintained. The decor and furnishings could be updated. The bed was very comfortable and the linens luxurious. We .

We came to Winston-Salem to visit a friend. I selected the Residence Inn as I had seen one once before but never stayed in one. The rooms were clean and well kept. The young lady at the front desk Shaleah was extremely friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the ladies in the breakfast room. They were so pleasant. I asked one lady, Cynthia, for a recommendation for North Carolina bbq and she suggested Bib’s Downtown. You can look at websites but it’s better to ask a local. She was 100% correct and we enjoyed our meal there. Both Shaleah and Cynthia asked me about back home as they were truly interested in their guests. Maybe we’ll meet again someday as I really enjoyed talking with them.

Great location, excellent suites and standard rooms (I've stayed here a lot) and wonderful staff that care about making sure you have a home away from home experience. Also, Cynthia who takes care of the social events is fantastic!
