Had a great one night stay here. People so friendly and welcoming. Room was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was really great too. Nice and comfy stay, thank you! Enjoyed chatting to Tessa about the Queen too!
After booking through a hotels comparison site I received a call about 2 hours before I was due to arrive from the manager saying they had a water leak and that he couldn’t fulfil the booking, I actually felt sorry him. Now I see it’s a common trick they use when overbooking....a week later and despite emails and phone calls from myself and the comparison site, there is still no sign of my refund. Avoid at all costs.
Traditional pub with great food and reasonable prices especially for Windsor. Rooms are comfortable with normal features. Carpets could do with updating. Apart from the gentlemen in Room 9 whose TV was on full from at least 4am then everything else was as expected or better.
Beware ,, Booked two rooms for one night at this inn as were attending wentworth golf received a call very late in the day to say apparently builders had not finished our rooms and they had moved us to an awful travel lodge miles away. Can only assume they had double booked our rooms as we rang the day before to confirm the time of arrival and told at that time all was ok. Very disappointed.
Walked into bar & shown the direction to our room. Double, wardrobe space, TV, tea/coffee. Bathroom with shower cubicle. Ate in both evenings, good food at good prices. Hanging baskets on front seating area are a picture. Breakfasts spot on, cereals/juice/coffee or tea/toast/full english - no need for lunch! Went to Wentworth for the BMW & Windsor for sightseeing/shopping. To cap a great weekend, Tess came from our home town, so loads in common.
Very friendly people, which made you feel very welcome. Food was lovely and big portions. Unfortunately I had to leave early each morning which meant I missed out on what looks like a lovely breakfast which I am sure would set you up for the day.
We were overall disappointed with this place. I think it was mis-sold as a four star hotel which it clearly is not- I don’t believe those 4 *s are independently accredited and am taking this up with Expedia. Main issue for me was cleanliness. Room was ok-ish, though shower could do with good scrub. Corridor carpets covered in stains. Pub carpet very grimy and in morning covered in litter and crumbs from night before. Did not tempt me to have breakfast, especially combined with fact the place only has 3/5 hygiene rating from local authorities- we looked it up on UK hygiene app. We stayed 2 nights and no attempt to clean/tidy our room while we were there. Cheap furniture in room, lots of maintenance issues - extractor fan broken, no window catch, shower screen wobbly, window blind put on the wrong way round. All in all down at heel. Also no WiFi, though advertised as having it. And no bedside lamps, though these are shown in photos. Customer service absent though weren’t rude. Not friendly and none of the quite standard asking if we enjoyed our stay etc. I am deeply suspicious of some of the positive reviews which sound fake to me. Or it attracts a lot of undiscerning customers! If I ever return this way, I’ll book something else.
Booked a room for the night for a trip to the Theatre in Windsor. Convenient location, you can walk to the castle and town , 40 minutes the scenic route - 5 minutes by taxi. The inn has beautiful views, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were good , cooked breakfast was excellent. Would definitely use them again.
Oh dear, where to start. First of all the welcoming site of an old sofa and various dried out flower pots in the car park. Then the area referred to as reception which was a glorified box room leading to a stairs carpet that must have been twinned with the local town of Staines. Into the bedroom where the light switch was broken, a mirror was propped up behind the television and the window blinds had a mind of their own. To use the toilet you virtually had to sit in the sink at the same time. As for the shower, it had more use as a coat hanger as certainly no water wanted to come out. The only reason I'm giving the place two stars is that the breakfast was excellent.
Checking in was simple, the setting is beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. We took an Uber to get to the castle so that we didn’t have to deal with parking. I do not recommend walking, it’s just too far. Room was comfortable but the mattress was pretty firm, we skipped breakfast but had a decent dinner in the pub the night before we left. It had a nice country/local feel about it; away from the hustle of the castle area. No WiFi but there are plenty of places you can get it downtown.
