This is not the best Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in, although to be fair it is being refurbished, the staff are courteous & welcoming at the check-in, also efficient. The rooms are as you would expect clean tidy & comfortable, the food while average was at least always hot. Some people complained about the water pressure especially in the shower but ours was more than adequate. My one complaint would be about the windows which are still single glazed! Sat in the restaurant adjacent to the window was like siting next to a freezer with the door open, hopefully this will be fixed during the refurbishment. Although for the price paid it was still value for money.
Absolutely faultless. Staff here were so welcoming and friendly. Room very clean, plenty of towels, comfy beds. Dinner was delicious ordered off the lounge menu didn't take too long to be bought out, great portions and so tasty. I recommend the ultimate burger. Good use of facilities my 5 year old son especially liked the swimming pool. Receptionists and bar staff give extremely good customer service, they made our stay here so enjoyable. Will definitely be returning.
To be completely fair to the hotel it has an awful lot going for it. The swimming pool and gym are good, the free parking is a bonus these days and the staff are friendly. For what I paid for our nights stay I have no complaints. However to be completely honest there were a few niggles. The room was way too warm even with the radiator turned off and the windows open. The hotel is going through an upgrade and they made no secret of this even at the booking stage. We had an un-refurbished room (which was clean and tidy) so hopefully they will sort the temperature issues when it is redone. The carpets were threadbare in some corridors and the shower was dreadful with no pressure to speak of. As long as you pay a sensible price this is fine!
Great hotel, exceptionally clean and comfortable bed. Only downside- no on site parking. I am disabled and had to ask if they could accommodate a nearer car park. Which was accommodated eventually. But apart from that- fab stop over
This hotel serves a purpose, but I'm surprised Holiday Inn associate themselves with such a poor hotel. Everything seems very old and basic. The shower pressure is horrific and nigh on unusable, food selection is overpriced and clearly pre-cooked and reheated. Good wifi speeds, good location and a reasonably priced hotel, but I've stayed in better Travelodge. Probably won't return
I stayed at The Holiday Inn on Saturday for the night. My room (157) was spacious and spotlessly clean. My bed was extremely comfortable and dispite guests making excessive noise when going back to their rooms in the small hours I had a good nights sleep. I enjoyed my evening meal and I thought the variety, choice and quality of the breakfast was outstanding. A very enjoyable stay
Good hotel. Good stay and very helpful people. Nice breakfast. Good for business travel. A tuck shop would be great addition. The price I got from my customers was really value for money. Only issue is that it is not near to any restaurants et al.
I stayed for 1 night. I had stayed about 6 months ago and again it wasn't great. The restaurant was closed then but open this time. Anyway, the room was dirty. The pillows looked like they had been rolled on the floor and we're covered in dust and hair. The room was tired and the whole place is desperate for an update. Breakfast was a joke. I ordered 2 poached eggs when I was seated, 20mins later they still hadn't arrived so I just had some fruit that was really soft and tasted awful. I'm an IHG member and stay in IHG hotels all the time. This is by far the worst one I have ever stayed in and unfortunately I won't be returning.
Sign for free tea and coffee on the way into the hotel, after we checked in we asked a staff member where we could get it she was very rude and grilled us like she was the hotel gestapo, why are you here? Where is your conference? several minutes of questioning later she finally told us where to get it. Wish we had not checked in as we would have gone somewhere else that appreciates their guests. Anyway the coffee was watered down almost clear water and not worth asking about. The food in the restaurant was rubbish as was the breakfast. A tired rundown hotel that could be the new Fawlty Towers, with a staff member that must have worked for Fawlty Towers before she came to work here. Best avoided at all costs unless you want treated with contempt.
Stayed at this hotel a couple of times for visiting family. The rooms are very nice, staff attentive and plenty of parking. We have used the bar but not actually used the restaurant or any other facilities.
