Great location, good pool. Great breakfast. Average rooms - one smelled bad but the staff was quick to switch it without trouble. Hot tub is meh. Vanessa was extremely helpful. For the price, this is a good value. I would stay here again. Family of 4 with 2 kids.
Purchased one night stay last minute. Very bad smell in the room……moldy and saw several roaches.
We were in 2 rooms that both smelled like mildew. The first room carpet was very wet so we had to move to the other room. Rooms were dirty, most outlets did not work, drapes were hanging, room was so extremely uncomfortable I was up all night! Then the people in the room above us came in at midnight and were so loud until after 2AM. And front desk did nothing
There are too many negative things to point out, and so I will start by listing some very bad ones. When I first arrived to the hotel, I was told that it was a nonsmoking hotel, upon arriving to my room, which happened to have the door wide open and had lots of dirt/filth at the entrance, I was advised by one of the worker there (which happened to be cleaning one of the rooms on that 2nd floor) to go back downstairs and get a different room. I did, the 2nd room that was assigned to me smells so strongly of cigarettes, that my daughter, her friend and myself where unable to get used to the smell the entire stay. I tried calling the front desk and no answer. Furthermore, the room was dingy, the toilet was so large for the bathroom, that is was close to impossible to close the door while in that particular room. I have stayed at Best Westerns before but this was a total disappointment. My daughter almost cut herself on one of the walls corners, which had a dangling peace of metal. I took photos of this (I wish I could attach to this review. The trash bins outside of the entrance were not cleaned at all, and were overflowing with trash and cigarette buds. The AC was making a horrific sound all night, and the list goes on and on. I did appreciate the friendliness of cleaning crew and front desk desk person. I think if I could give stars to this hotel, zero would be my rating. What a horrible stay. I felt unsafe the entire time, as I noticed the doors leading to parking lot unloked
Proximity to Carolina Beach was the only redeeming factor. The room was dirty. I mean chronically dirty with stained carpet and desk chair, dirty window dressings, dirty shower curtain, and stained sheets. It was so bad that I refused to walk in the room without shoes. Both drink machines were out of service. The back door didnt lock, and the only theft deterrent was "it sticks badly". I did let the staff know of my dissatisfaction, and the only acknowledgment was jotting down the room complaints and stating a weak "Im sorry we are renovating (of which we saw no evodence) while gladly taking my $309 for ONE night.
The lock of room 211 did not work even after the third code card. No apology from the employee, only unfriendly reaction. The next room could not be closed at all, the door lock was not in order. Unfriendliness and stylelessness of the employee increased. The third room finally opened and closed. Then she gave us the wifi code. Although she knew the internet was not working for at least 12 hours, she said nothing.
For the price it needs to be upgraded and cleaner.
Great for kids- pool and breakfast. I'll be going back.
The front desk staff was engaging and always had a smile each and every time I walked through the front door.The hotel was clean, the cleaning team was picking up debris outdoors and cleaning floors indoors. They would greet you with a friendly "good morning". My room was at the end of the hall on the third floor - clean and modern. If I came back to the room to change for dinner and children were in the pool area screaming in fun, I could hear them (slightly). I was out of the room early in the morning and most evenings so it wasn't a nuisance for me. I would recommend this hotel.
Hotel and staff was great. Indoor pool was very clean as well as rooms. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay again in the near future. Its located near many restaurants and also many shopping centers.
Good middle of the road hotel but if you are really going for the beaches, this is a good 20-25 minutes from there. Wilmington, however is only about 15 minutes away.
The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. The room was very quite. Our all around check in and check out process was easy. There were a couple things that definitely needed to be cleaned. When I told the front desk they acted very surprised and offered to come fix it immediately.
My husband and I loved this place....we didn't want to leave. Will definitely be going back!!
