truly can't understand the praises for this park. It is basically a parking lot turned it in to a RV park. Mostly concrete and gravel. The only grass is the narrow dog run behind the building for the laundry, restrooms, etc. The restrooms are clean, but old. There are rule signs EVERYWHERE. Each site has one of those old, dirty, grills, but the nice, gas grills at the common area must be reserved and RENTED. Yes, you read that right, it costs. The spaces are a nice size, but are all concrete and gravel. This park is more like a city park. If you're looking for nature, this isn't it. There is no refund if you decide to leave a day early, but this is never mentioned over the phone when making the reservation. There is a sign posted when you check in. It wasn't awful, I just don't understand the praises. It's Lakeside, Montana, if we wanted to be surrounded by concrete ,we would have gone to Houston, Tx. We were highly disappointed. We camped at Edgewater RV Resort & Motel in a Travel Trailer.
We had the lakeside view room, which was amazing to wake up to the view of the lake and mountains. Unfortunately, the room hasn't been changed since the 70's. The sad thing is with a little care and not a lot of money, it could at least be cute if not fancy. Dingy gray painted walls, old carpet, old bedspreads, etc. Not even a microwave. Too bad they don't take more pride in it as it could be a great little place. So the view and location gets a 5. The room maybe a 3 if I'm being generous.
Had the two (only) upstairs rooms. One was facing the lake with a wonderful view and a balcony facing the lake. Bedroom with two beds, living room and kitchen. Had the other room across the hall from it with two king size beds and fridge so perfect for a family of two kids and two parents. Had its own dock/swim area. Was really perfect. Go eat at the Tamarack Brewery. Ask for directions as it is off the main drag a little. Best food in town. Rent kayaks for the kids right on the main drag. Go for coffee at Glacier Perks also on main drag. Go for breakfast and lunch to The Farmhouse, one block off main drag. Go for Far West Boat Tour in afternoon or evening. Hour and 45 minutes cost $22. Really nice.
We recently stayed in the motel on the lake side of Hwy 93. We were quite pleased by the room which was actually 2 rooms with a queen bed in each. There was a coffee maker and fridge too. Bathroom was old but very clean. Towels were thick, good quality and plentiful. Daily cleaning was included which we did not expect. We absolutely loved the dock with the Adirondack chairs- coffee every morning and drinks every night. Great view and location. If they had a kayak to rent on the premises that would be perfect. We are so glad we stumbled on this place and would love to come back!
We stayed here to meet up with some friends who help out with maintenance at the park. It is right across a busy highway from Flathead Lake and has a nice view of the majestic Mission Mountains. There is some traffic noise from the highway as we were nearest the road. We did not find it bothersome. There is occasionally noisy groups at the group picnic structure but they seem to enforce quiet hours well. The bathrooms and laundry as very clean and nice although we usually use our trailer’s shower. The lots are nice gravel and concrete pads and are angled for easy access. Also the sites alternate the sides of utilities so pay attention to their instructions on how to approach your site. BEWARE! Richard the manager is a bit of a tease and can appear quite grumpy! Don’t take it personal! The managers are actually very nice.
This location is so much better than the other place down in Polson. The staff couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. All of the RV sites are level with a spacious concrete patio, picnic table, and full hookups hidden from your neighbor by a cute little wooden privacy fence. No pool or kid's park, but the killer restaurant and swimming beach is across the street, so that makes up for a lot.
The rooms are very functional. We had a group with us occupying several rooms, and I took "Unit 00" which had a large living room and a full kitchen where we stored our snacks, beer and sodas, and had a stove to heat up our goodies. The living room was big enough for eight men to sit around with chairs enough for all without running down to other rooms to gather more. A fold out couch enabled one friend who was late registering to crash in my unit. The only downside to Unit 00 was that it was on the road, farthest from the lake, but we spent quite a bit of time in 00 none-the-less. The town is small, so the Edgewater is walking distance to everything. We liked that there were 8 deck chairs on the Edgewater's dock, so we were able to gather there and have cigar away from everyone else, if we wanted to. There was no smoking allowed in the rooms. The staff is really friendly - Fran is great! Recommend this motel if you're wanting to be on the lake and near Kalispell.
I made a reservation through Expedia for the Edgewater Motel on a very busy weekend night. It was a non-cancellable reservation and the Expedia confirmation said that I did not need to call the Motel. Expedia overbooked. The Edgewater immediately let them know that they had no rooms available, but Expedia did not let me know. It could have been a total disaster - a four hour drive to get home and no room after big important family event (in the evening). The manager of the Edgewater went way beyond any expectations for customer service. She called other local hotels until she found us a room, it was an upgrade and more expensive than what we had reserved, so the Edgewater Motel paid the difference. Extraordinary. We are definitely going back... and next time we will make our reservations direct with the Edgewater. We found out from the hotel we ended up at, that Expedia does this to them frequently. I am done with Expedia!
We stayed at the Edgewater RV Resort & Motel in May 2018. We found our cabin very well appointed with a full, well equipped kitchen. The cabin was very well maintained and clean with a spacious bathroom. The porch swing on our verandah was wonderful for reading and relaxing in the evenings. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly. The Resort is only about 15 mins outside Kalispell, which has many restaurants, grocery stores and all conveniences. This was our stopover on the way to Glacier National Park and we would definitely stay here again.
We got to stay on the lake. The hotel is old but clean and well appointed. They have a refrigerator and microwave and the hotel is pet friendly. Loved the place and would come back again just to stay on the lake
