We were pleasantly surprised. Price was much lower than comparable units nearby and pictures on the website showed basic/outdated interiors. Our cottage was updated with granite countertops, new gas stove and fridge, new flooring and fixtures. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great experience and location. Recommended for anyone. Will definitely return. JJ

The property is well located in the heart of Wells with a view of the ocean. It is close to restaurants and shops and the staff are pleasant and accommodating.

The view and the situation were excellent. The property was close to everything we wanted to visit . Only a few minutes to the beach.it was a deal.

Could have been better...

The room was clean, well equipped and the staff very pleasant but I had to keep all the windows open because the mildew/mold odor was overpowering. The bed linen was very 'tired' and there was even a large hole in the blanket. In all fairness; I did not complain until checkout time. The owner said she would have given me another room had I come to see her right away. That being said, the room should not have been in that state.

Cottage was very sweet and I loved that there was a full kitchen and fridge. Staff was lovely and our cottage had a blueberry bush in full berry next to it, so we had delicious snacks.

Upon walking into the cottage, overwhelmed by the smell of cleaner. So strong you could taste it. A/C didn't work. Owner came in & the filter was clogged (Guess they don't do maintenance checks) There were no toiletries,towels were so rough, bed had no support & chair was so old that when you sat, it sank to the floor. Cottage is so outdated. Laundry room flooded & couldn't use it. Waste of money. DISAPPOINTING

Private and Quaint Cottage. We loved it. The Owners were very welcoming and quick to provide anything we needed in a very prompt manner. The pool was not ready due to cool rainy weather this Spring of 2019. It was understandable that the pool was not ready. But the Hot Tub was ready. 😁 We stayed in Room 108. This was our first time visiting The Belle of Maine Cottages and the Coast of Maine. As a matter of fact, we usually would go to Newport, RI. However, we decided to try a different area near the Ocean. Now We have decided to make Maine our regular vacation place. Maine has so much to offer and awesome place to explore. This is such a beautiful State. The Benefits include we are not that far from the mountains or the ocean! Many thanks to the Awesome stay we had at 'The Bell of Maine' cottages. We will be back!
