You only have to walk downstairs to get to the best bars and restaurants that Wellington has to offer. Cinemas are nearby, the St James Theatre is just across the street, and the Opera House not far away. You're very close walking distance from the Waterfront, Te Papa Museum, Cuba Street and Oriental Bay.
There are three grocery stores within a five minute walk.

Public Transit stops right out front of the building and takes you anywhere- including the airport. A taxi from the airport is generally $50. Uber is usually $20-40. The Airport Flyer bus picks up just out front of the airport doors and takes you to the St James Theatre, just across the street from the apartment, for about $10 per person.
There are several paid parking garages within a few minutes walk, and I've got some tips and tricks about parking for free & cheap.
My best advice is to park on or near Marjoribanks Street in the "Coupon Parking" zone. It's free on weekends, overnight, and for 2hrs on weekdays. If parking >2hrs on weekdays, it's $18/day. You can buy a "coupon" from the PayMyPark App or from most any dairy (aka convenience store) nearby. You'll need a coupon if you park for more than 2hrs between 8am and 6pm on weekdays.
The garage at 70 Tory Street is one block away and costs about $38/day on weekdays and $8/day on weekends.
Metered parking right out front is $5/hr on weekdays, 2hr max; and free overnight (no max time overnight). Be sure to check the signs to be sure the rules haven't changed.

Mevo is a great car-share app that lets you rent Teslas, Polstars, BYDs, etc (electric cars) by the hour or by the day. Collecting a car through the Mevo app is super convenient, and you can drop it off in most any public parking spot in town. You don't have to pay for metered parking - so parking is free on Tory Street right out front of the apartment. After booking, ask me for a link to get a $50 Mevo credit.

Phenomenal location for exploring downtown Wellington and anywhere in the area you might want to reach using local transit - bus, train, or ferry. Convenient walking distance to bus stops on Courtenay Place, as well as the i-Site shuttle stops for Zealandia and the Weta Studio tour. We had an easy walk to takeaways on Courtenay and the dining scenes on Cuba Street and Lambton Quay. Easy walk to grocery, the Sunday market, or out for a cocktail. Lovely breeze kept the flat pleasant, and our host was a joy.

Amazing little place for youngsters, smack bang in the middle of all the action and late night clubbing. Very vibrant! Alive!The host was great and very helpfull, she responded instantly to all questions or queries.This place has everything u could need, from cooking to shampoo, to dishwasher, washing machine u name it, its there - home away from home.However- the no parking on site was VERY tricky and not ideal with a family of 5 having to unpack a large vehicle full of things with littlees in a very busy road from far away.I would honestly say this spot is probably not ideal for a young family. More for people without kiddies, It is loud and noisy until early hours of the morning over weekends. You cant find paking anywhere, alot of walkingEven tho its an amazing space,and signs everywhere not to smoke in the building, the passages to get to the flat has a strong tobacco smell, almost like someone lives and smokes in the building all the time- so again not ideal for family of littlees, but some ppl wont be bothered.Me and hubby would defnitly be back without kids to visit again tho!!

Wonderful little flat to stay in for our week trip to Wellington! Clean, safe, and very friendly host. We were able to cook several meals in the kitchen with the provided cookware and dinnerware, and the sofas and bed were very comfortable! The balcony was adorable too, loved our stay here.

Great central spot - spacious & comfortable
Light, spacious and comfortable apartment in central location near to Te Papa, the harbourside and Cuba Street. Also near to bus stops for transport all over the city and surrounding areas - so no car is needed. Well equipped kitchen and good Wi-Fi/smart TV gives you all the comforts from home that you might need. Great host - good communicator, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Comfortable home near the Te Papa museum.
This is a very comfortable home near the Te Papa museum, a grocery store, public transportation and the harbor. Owner is very responsive. We really enjoyed Wellington and our stay. The store at the Te Papa is one of the best we have seen.
