Nice staff at front desk at check in. Housekeeping Department's For Sale sign was funny lol. Bed was comfy. Room was nice and clean and spacious. Pillows were a little small though but we made it work.

The breakfast was horrible, not one piece of fruit, how easy would it be just to have bananas on hand and then most of the things were out of stock. Also, we sat in a chair chair in our room and it collapsed on us so I told the front desk and they said thanks for letting me know and a couple days later they charge me $100 for the chair! They said they weren’t sure if we broke it or the person before but I got charged for it. That is absolutely ridiculous. You should be able to sit in a chair and not have a collapse. If the person sitting in it would’ve been injured what would they have done?? I will never stay at this property again and if you decide to, don’t sit in any chairs because if they break, they will charge you for it.

Room was clean but had a foul smell that was not ideal. Rest of hotel, lobby and hallways smelled of body order horrible. Breakfast was decent, kids were happy with choices and I enjoyed the options as well.

My drone charger got burnt in half from the hotels outlet. Once I spoke to the manager the next morning after moving rooms due to the fire hazard, the manager named Christina told me it was my choice to use that specific outlet therefore it’s not her problem.. it was a very unpleasant interaction and would not recommend staying here.

Have stayed at this Super 8 location previously when in Waverly Iowa. Never had issues arise like these. During this stay in early October 2025 my husband used the shower and discover the hotel tried to repair a hole in the shower/tub with a square of white tape. We are elderly and being in a shower where the floor has an actual hole the created unstable footing was dangerous. Not to mention a potential health and safety violation. Made the reservation well in advance of the planned visit. Very disappointed and will never stay in the location again. The room also had a significant odor around the sink area in the room. It did not come from the bathroom which is 4 feet away.
