Washington Marriott Wardman Park

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

My stay at Washington Marriott Wardman Park was great! It is a large hotel and there were several conferences being held during the week I stayed there. I was there for sightseeing but it seemed like a large percent of the guests were there for business or to attend a conference. It was across the street from the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan metro stop, which made taking the metro anywhere very convenient. The only thing that would make this a 5-star review is that they do not offer free wi-fi nor airport shuttle service.

Front desk very helpful accommodating early check-in. Restaurant and snack/coffee place downstairs inordinately expensive, I thought. Same issue with a Marriott I stayed in recently in Ft. Lauderdale, so I guess that is the way it is. Like $20 for a buffet breakfast.

Poor customer service...bugs in the room. When I told the front desk clerk about it, he acted like it was no big deal...didn't even offer an apology.

Nice clean comfortable hotel on quiet tree lined street close to a metro stop for easy transportation.

Nice stay . Rooms were clean, short distance to the zoo.

Noisy toilet, must flush it several times to stop it from running. Visible stained sheets and towels. Dusty. Noticed old cookie under air conditioner. But location is steps from red metro line, the zoo, and the fro-zen-yo.

Overall, we had a good stay. We had a bad experience when we had to call down to the front desk twice and then had to actually go down to the front desk to speak to the manager after we had been wakened out of a sound sleep 3 times between midnight and 1 in the morning by guests down the hall who were having a very loud party. The management failed to act quickly and take care of the loud noise. And we were supposedly on a QUIET floor. I feel like the Marriott owes us a night of sleep. No fun on a vacation.

Beautiful hotel with friendly and courteous staff.

It appears that just after Memorial day is a great time to get a low rate - The tourists clear out after memorial day and there are available rooms. I got this room for $100 per night. If you use the back entrance you are a short distance to the subway (1 block equivalent) and you do not need to walk up the hill to the main entrance. Nice room - did not have the down pillow toppers and features of other Marriotts . It was a nice stay. Free WiFi in the lobby and the lounge off the lobby. Good selection of Restaurants across from the subway station

Marriott won't give you points unless you book directly with them. I experience this as hostile and while this place is nice enough with great spring flowers all over the grounds, I plan to work out my disappointment by choosing other hotels as often as possible.

The hotel location was really neat. It was walking distance to everything. We encountered minor issues with the room. Being charged for internet access, that we did not want and the main hall light was broken. Service calls were made, but little to on response. Other than that, the hotel was great. I would go again.

The hotel itself was very clean. Parking was a problem. Very expensive to park and not enough spaces, sometimes it took over 20minutes to find a space in the garage. Lobby is very far from the elevators.

Upon arrival the room requested was not what was sold to us by the third party vendor. The staff immediately rectified this by moving us to a suite in the currently being renovated tower and dropping the price since we had to deal with construction. since we are centrally located, we were out on the town most days and missed the workmen all together. The suite was beautiful and service was top notch!

Very friendly and helpful staff. They went out of their way to accomodate our visit and responded quickly to our requests. Restaurants and metro station very close by. Nice area of town. I would stay here again.

stay quite often great hotel great experience people were friendly location was perfect

Overall, this hotel served us well. Things that could be better: the restrooms were few and far between. The layout was pretty confusing, but they sometimes had a hotel staff person posted with the sole purpose of giving directions to various meeting rooms. Elevators were good. The snack deli was seriously understaffed, so the line went SLOWLY if more than five people were waiting to pay. The TV in my room was slow to change channels, so it was aggravating to channel surf. If you like sports channels, that's mostly what they had.

room was not available on time. It was ready at 6pm! Instead of king size bed I had reserved I got two queen beds. It was not evident how much parking would cost when I reserved: $40 per day. Overall not a good value for the money.

My son had a few games at UVA so we decided to make a trip to see the Monuments. We walked in and my son was in shock! By far the best and biggest hotel he has been in. Spent 3 nights at the Hotel and it was awesome! Great restaurants also. Was kinda hard to find but we managed. The metro is right outside on the corner.

The hotel was nice and in a great location right across from the metro which was very convenient. The food selection within the hotel was kind of pricey as well as the parking. Although I requested a room with two double beds I was given a room with one king to accommodate five people but they were able to move us into a room with two doubles the following Morning. Overall this was a great hotel for the price and the house keeping staff were very friendly and helpful.

Arrived late but comfortable stay. Then got on my way next morning with no problem. Taxi was right there
