SUPER value for a stay in this area. Hotel is older, obviously, but still in good shape and clean. Very convenient location. Very spacious family rooms. Low water pressure in shower, but that's insignificant given how good everything else is. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.
Hotel is dated but clean and did the job close to all the monuments the bar down stairs was good the waitress a crack up good ole Linda and the breakfast restaurant was very very clean and nice staff would stay again 😀
Great price for DC but rooms are, look, and feel very old. But can’t be the price for the location of this hotel.
We felt that our room was clean, but shabby. We know it is a old building but paint, window coverings, and new furniture would make a huge improvement. it was an excellent location and the employees that we did talk to were very nice. Would probably stay again because mostly we were in the room to sleep and shower.
The grand dame is dated and past her prime. Carpets in the hall seemed dingy and worn. My room was small, but the bed was comfortable. The hot water in the tub only was warm. No shampoo in the bathroom. I had to buy some at the Nordstrom Rack across the street. The staff was helpful, though, and courteous.
The location is great. Close to metro, museums, Lincoln and White House. Lots of restaurants and convenient breakfast place attached. The property needs some remodeling. The entry carpet looks old and duirty . The bedroom needs painting. The tiles of my bathroom have some mold. The beds are comfortable, the shower is excellent. But the price I cheap compared to all other nearby hotels.
I loved that this is an older building and it has an old charm to it. I The building has not been remodeled and it looks like a 100 year old building, but that for me was what I liked about the vibe. The bathroom was large enough, the bed was very comfy, the closet was an older style which was quirky, but had enough space for my clothes. The staff were very friendly. The queen bed room itself was plenty of space for two people and the location is excellent!!! Close to everything and for the price it's worth it. My only issue was the water temperature in the shower fluctuated from too cold to perfect to too hot. Minor annoyance for me but if skin is super sensative or have young kids be aware. Was in room 1028. I will be staying here each time I stay in DC and am a happy customer.
Only we like location
The hotel is very old and needs update need but less expensive than other hotel around them. Excellent location.
Parking was ok. We enjoyed the room itself. Didnt think it was a bad as reviews.
Looks like the hotel is from 1910 and has never been updated. Not even the linens.
The hotel is in a good location to explore the main sites of Washington DC without breaking the bank. The property is outdated, however the room was clean. Beware that they advertise parking facilities but this is not true. There are parking garages nearby that are not terribly expensive ($22 per day and up), but you do not get in and out rights like it was advertised. This was my first concern upon check in and the lady at the front desk was very short and told me that if I did not agree I was free to leave. It was late and I just arrived with my two kids and I was not in the mood to go around finding another hotel, otherwise I might have. All front desk staff was quite short and unfriendly. So if you expect a modern property where the front desk is there to help you with the experience do not go to this hotel. However, since my intention was to have a room where to crash with my two kids while on a short vacation, it did serve the purpose. The kids loved the room because it was actually two connected rooms, one with a large bed and another with two twin beds, and each with a bathroom. There were plenty of towels, a fridge and a microwave oven. The hotel lobby is very run down and dirty. There is a restaurant associated to the hotel, Harry's, which is awful, with terrible service. There was quite a bit of noise at night when other guests went back late to their rooms. This woke me up a couple nights.
The hallways really had an odor and look of "old." When asking about the gift shop being open, the lady at the desk said, "It probably will not be open." Honestly, the room was fine for the price. The view was probably the reason for the price, but the trashy roof outside the window took a terrible view and made it displeasurable. I had my wife with me (which was rare) and while I was out on business it was just not relaxing enough. There were two chairs and they were basically desk/arm chairs. The television was very small. We checked out before the 2nd night and were hoping for a refund of some kind, but Orbitz was not able to get any form of a refund from Hotel Harrington.
It’s just an old property. Rooms are shabby.
