Me and my husband stayed Glebe Hotel in January 2018 as a part of our European tour for 2 weeks. One of our friend suggested this hotel i am so appreaciating him to suggest us these kind of delightful place to saty for a tour. This is an old fashioned hotel and a 400 year old tree in the front is giving an amazing looks. We met Taoni Jones (The Reception Mnager) and Simranjit (Business Manager) at the Reception up on our arrival. They offred us for carring our luggages to the room. The room was so beautiful with my favourite colour. it is clean and big. The hotel gives the additional facilities like gym, swimming pool, breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner. This is located in a small village which have a small shop and a giant church near to the hotel. During our 2 weeks stay we couldn't find any negative points and we would like to give the team 10 star. me and husband really want to say thank you so much for the each and every staff in Glebe.
As the same, Glebe hotel was an amazing experience for me and my family. The menu looks fabulous and some of the new staff are above professional. The swimming pool and refurbished gym deserves more than 5 star. Thank you so much the Managers and the team who made our stay so rememberable and wish to see you soon.
We booked this hotel to celebrate my parents golden anniversary and travelled to get together from around the country. The hotel was a bad choice. Firstly, my dad is disabled and the hotel ignored the request for a shower not a bath. In the room they did give my parents, he struggled on with the bath only to find the overhead shower didn’t work. Instead of being able to fix it, he was asked to bathe in a room down the hallway, which he did, as he didnt want to cause a fuss. Suggesting that a man with severe leg issues to trapse all of his things to another room just to bathe is pushing it. Next the heating in the room was turned up extremely high and was suffocating and couldn’t be turned down. To top it off, the walls were so thin that you can hear the tv in the next room. Besides the poor hotel standard, the attitude and response from the hotel manager lacked motivation to resolve the issue, only more to defend his point of view. After complaining he offered 10% off the rate to compensate for unusable room. When I said this was not acceptable, and he thought I would further complain he revoked the 10% and was hugely argumentative about it and said no other hotel in Warwick would give me anything. Then he shouted on about his he had three witnesses to his conversation. To be honest there were only 3 ppl working there in total including him! Don’t go to this hotel and definitely don’t complain to the manager, Simranjeet. He clearly does not care and the hotel is a dump.
I decided to have my 60th birthday party at this lovely boutique hotel in Barford after being met by a really professional but friendly Manager, Jayne Brown. She spent time discussing my requirements and showing me around the hotel and I immediately felt confident this hotel was the right place to host my party. Its a lovely size small enough to feel part of the 'family' of really friendly staff but big enough to accommodate the size of party I was looking for. Right from start to finish the staff were brilliant from the reception team to the catering staff to housekeeping and management level. The party was a huge success with the room looking fantastic with bows on the chairs and amazing centre pieces. The team worked well together ensuring my instructions were followed and the delicious hot food was served on time with a plentiful supply. Nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were immaculate and breakfast was superb. I can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.
I would describe the Glebe Hotel as 3 star heading for 4 start. The facilities are excellent. Nice pool, Gym and changing rooms. Not large but new, clean and very pleasant. The family room we stayed in was excellent new bathroom to a high standard. The room itself was nice but I was told that it too was do for refurbishment in a couple of months. Breakfast was very good with everything you would expect on offer and served by friendly staff. We stayed two nights and had a bar snack on the evening we arrived. The staff were extremely polite and accommodating from start to finish. The parking is off road, free and in a safe area.
Arrived Christmas eve, to a warm welcome and relaxing in the lounge with hot punch in front of a open fire, followed by a local choir singing carols, was a perfect start to our 3 night stay. All the meals in the restaurant were superb and well planned, especially Christmas day lunch with good use of the carvery facilities allowing personal choice of meals and portion sizes. My wifes favourite was the grilled salmon which i tried later at the buffet in the conservatory. The breakfasts are superb and room service was not a problem for the friendly staff. The leisure club, must not be missed !!!! The pool is of good size and the water temperature was higher than expected with steam room and sauna available. Our double room was very clean, with thermostatic controlled heating keeping it at a perfect temperature for the three days we were there. We have booked the same package already for this year as we were so impressed.
The reviewers who were welcomed with red carpets and prosecco were indeed very fortunate - we were met with dead flowers on reception and afternoon tea consisting of six meagre fingers of marble cake. Some refer to Glitz and Glamour - we found only dingy and sparsely decorated public rooms. Others speak of 'wonderful food and excellent service', whereas we found ourselves on Christmas Day in a long queue for luke warm meat and stewed grey vegetables reminiscent of old school dinners! (Besides, had we wanted a carvery we could have gone to our excellent local Toby Inn) As for the 'friendly and attentive staff' my husband found himself on more than one occasion playing 'hunt the bar-man', and it was quite noticeable that on Christmas morning not one member of staff greeted us with 'Happy Christmas'. (One young lady whom we think was called Gabriella did at least make an effort to be friendly). Having spent a wonderful Christmas at The Glebe about five years ago, we returned with high expectations which were very soon dashed. This was most embarrassing as we had invited friends to come with us. However, the real icing on the cake was to be presented with a room charge for the two paltry dishes of peanuts we had requested to accompany our pre-dinner drinks on Christmas Eve. With a total bill running into well over £1000 we found this absolutely outrageous. I have posted hundreds of reviews over the years and am very rarely critical but I cannot for the life of me understand why the Christmas guests were given such a raw deal compared to those visiting earlier in December. In all fairness, the rooms were fine (we were amongst the lucky ones who arrived to hot water and heating!) and so was the breakfast , but the rest was, as I said in my heading, dire. We submitted a complaint almost immediately and subsequently had a message left on our ansa-phone promising an investigation but have heard nothing since. We suspect that, now they have taken our money, they couldn't care less and with an attitude like that they deserve to fail.
We had a fabulous time the food and atmosphere we excellent the staff were very attentive. We stayed over night the room was lovely and the breakfast well there was everything you could want. We will definitely be going back Well done The Glebe.
The appearance of this hotel is inspiring; a Georgian house in its own grounds, with an ancient yew tree in the middle of the parking area. However, as a "Glitz and Glamour" break - it was not. This was a festive break, which was not cheap. The first impression was marred by a bowlful of dead flowers on the reception desk, The lady in front of us, using a crutch, was asking for a porter to carry her bags; no chance! The meals were adequate but not holiday fare, and little silver service. No punch and mice pies appeared late at night. The nuts which were requested when the "nibbles" promised failed to appear, wer charged on the final bill at £2.00.On the good side, the staff were charming, and the bedroom huge; ditto the bed. So much potential!
We had a 2 night stay with our 5 year old Grandson a few days before Christmas. Stayed in a very nice 2 bedroomed room downstairs. Gabriella in the bar and restaurant is an asset to this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The reception staff were very friendly. Our evening meal was very nice and the full english breakfasts good quality ingredients and well cooked. Will be returning for another stay. Thank you all so much😃😃
