Adequate

The house is in a nice residential neighborhood and the exterior was adequately maintained. Unfortunately there were hypodermic needles by the trash, which we assume someone just discarded. The rooms arrangement was fine but some of the beds were uncomfortable to sleep in. While the house was generally clean, if you looked a little closer, many areas hadn’t been cleaned in awhile, e.g., ceiling fan blades, areas next to the vanities; the ceiling fan in the sitting room outside the dining area didnt work and it was stifling hot and the air conditioner in this room was inadequate. We also had some issues with the dryer but maintenance came the same day to fix it. Walking out the rear doors, we encountered spider webs and almost every window was covered by webs. The pool water was clean but the liner was ripped and wrinkled and in need of replacement. All in all, we did enjoy our stay and would come back to the area but at a different house, unless this one got a lot of TLC.

Great location!

1st the good. Its a great location one street back from the ocean. Easy walk to the beach. Lots of beds. Management was always responsive. Pickleball was fun! We enjoyed our time there. Not so good. The listing says views of ocean & bay from multiple rooms. That is simply not true. There is one little view of the ocean between houses and thru a gazebo. You can see the canal and a sliver of bay from 1 bedroom and the kitchen, again looking between houses. The pool liner looks should have been replaced last year. Its dirty and torn in several places so the water is low. It was still refreshing but at 5'4" I could stand in the deep end with my head and neck above water. The 2 smaller decks were taken over by spiders every evening. Not little spiders but big round bodied spiders. We counted about 5 on one deck at sunset and over a dozen after dark on the deck off a bedroom. The house could use a good powerwashing. They started fixing the roof on our last day at 7:30am tossing shingles off the roof as we were packing up. So at least the roof will be new! Wish the mattresses & pillows were newer. One teen opted for the futon downstairs instead of a bed but its next to a fridge that ran loudly all night. Another opted for the sofa instead of a bed. No one slept well. The sliding doors are difficult to open and close. My son found a kitchen knife in the cushions of the sun room. There was a moldy starbucks cup becoming 1 with the floor in the foosball room.

The Star of the Sea Beach escape was perfect for our needs. It was the house for the Groom, groomsmen, and their friends.The rental company is incredibly thorough and even offered the night prior to our stay at a reduced rate, which we jumped on.
