The hotel staff were very accommodating. Especially since the hotel is under construction.
The carpet was wet from an air conditioner leak and the air didn't work well... they couldn't switch rooms so we were stuck with it. The toilet was not properly cleaned and cable was out for 24 hrs.
Had to park in a random parking lot a block away surrounded by crazy busy nightclubs with tons of sketchy people hanging around. Felt super uncomfortable walking to the hotel with our baby in a car seat and all of our luggage. We also had to circle around the block multiple times to even figure out how to get somewhere to be able to check into the hotel which we ended up having to double park in the main lot. Then we finally get to the room open the balcony door and all you smell is people smoking weed. We used this hotel as a 1 night stay on our way to OBX just to rest, get cleaned up then go visit the beach before hitting the road. Wake up the next morning to shower, turn the shower handle and the inside valve was broken so the water would not shut off or adjust after turning it. Called the front desk and they say “oh we know about that we will send someone right up”. So after 2 hours they got the water working well enough that me and my wife could get showers before continuing our trip. The maintenance and front desk people were very nice which helped the situation. We were promised a refund that they said would take a little because of booking through a second party so I’m still waiting on that because I would have much rather paid a cheaper rate at a non beach front hotel if I knew this was what I was going to deal with.
