Beautifully centrally located.... a quaint and creeky but interesting old-fashioned hotel... Also clean with friendly staff.. But my stay there was spoiled by an over-charge on my bill......which when I questioned it was met only with a smile and a shrug... I was late and had a taxi running so had to leave it thete. I retrospectively queried it but was met with a further blank..as was my booking agent who also kindly queried it on my behalf (and also kindly re-imbursed me I should add) Owners of this establishment appear to be ignorant and direly unprofessional!
This place is not as bad as other reviews. 4th floor room has a nice view and alright room.... Wouldn't recommend for a family bc it is next to a night club and has music pumping until about 12am but it wasn't an issue for me. Horrible, unhelpful and pathetic staff. TV didn't work. I would stay here again if it wasn't so expensive. I think you could get a much better hotel at a cheaper price.
This is like so many Asian guesthouses, nothing special but has everything you need. Bed was reasonable, bathroom passable, reasonable location. What more can you ask for at the price. There is tea and coffee, views of the river, across the road from the night markets and wifi.
Stayed at this hotel twice during my trip. A more western touch with Vientiane twist. Polite staff and everything run smoothly. If you look for a clean and comfortable hotel, but does not need to be five star, this is for you. Location is good, breakfast was good, beer was good. Lots of restaurants near by. Could stay here again. They do seem to have a choice of rooms and you can ask for one of the better rooms with presumably minimal extra, if any.
One word "awful", boutique, how have they got the cheek to use that terminology I have never stayed in a hovel like it. There is nothing positive you can say about it only the sheets are clean. On entry you can only think you have walked into a time capsule going back hundreds of years, the hotel contains a hoard of junk. I like unique, quirky but this leaves me speech less. The bedroom smells of damp, mould is the prime decor and the smell is horrendous. The bathroom is so outdated unimaginable I hope no one as the misfortune of staying here. It needs banning from the web sites, why aren't these companies vetting such places that they promote. This is false advertising. I wouldn't mind they say you get what you pay for but this is not a cheap hotel and definitely not worth the price.
Past its prime -- and they'll be no bringing this one back. Too far gone, although they keep patching it up to state of functionality. We stayed previously in 2011, but since then so many new places have opened. Anyway, about the Inter City: only reason to be here is if you get a riverview room on higher floors. The view is good and overlooks the night market. Noise wasn't an issue (and we are about as noise conscious as it gets). Is there any other place half decent with river view like this? We didn't see anything. Try it for a night and get a glimpse into old Vientiane. Meanwhile, you can inspect the environs to choose something you really like.
I've requested an airport pickup that I never had because of really stupid reason, they didn't want "to take the risk that I could miss my flight and the driver would wait for nothing", really upsetting. Then it was complicated for them to get me a TukTuk in front of the hotel to pick me up when it was raining hard in Vientiane... Breakfast is not really good. Internet is horribly slow, hopefully I could connect to the coffee shop below, they had a better wifi... Probably nice for a night but would not recommend it for more... On a good side, location is great, room was clean.
Sweet location, though it can be a nit noisy if your room is near the street front. The breakfast was great, I loved it. It's easy to reach there from the airport and it's easy to go around anywhere from the location. You can also loitering around the area, as there are many shops nearby, very convenient, plus it's next to a temple, so you will never miss your morning pray!
This hotel is not bad ..pretty clean with very basic rooms. The staff were very friendly and it is just opposite the mekong river and also the night market. It also has a restaurant attached to it which serves pretty good food western and asian .
Had the misfortune to book this shabby filthy squalid little place. Check in was OK (that's it for the good stuff) the room was a disgrace. Paint bubbling and peeling from the walls. Air con so weak it would take months to cool the room. We had booked a river view room. The river is a cross the noisy main road out front and more of a glimps than a view. Bathroom was appalling grout black with mould. Literally left the room in 15 minutes to find a bar to get over the horror. On the walk came across the best western (See that review) and decided to cut our losses and move hotels. When we informed the staff we would not be staying because of the room they seemed to take it on the chin, we are not the first to walk away apparently. Final warning I would not let my dog stay here. Plenty of other options available in close proximity.
