We will definitely be back, I think we're going to make it an annual pilgrimage. Marg has thought of everything, and we were very comfortable and well taken care of. The well appointed lodge is quiet and peaceful, and on a spectacular beach.
The Lodge at Weird Beach just outside of Victoria. This Cosy Hideaway is located in Metchosin! Situated right on the beach, this wonderful bed-and-breakfast like Lodge boasts scenic rooms. Steps away from a sandy beach; teaming with wildlife. During our stay we were lucky enough to see Harbour seals, fishing Eagles, grazing deer, and plenty of flitting Hummingbirds. The Guest Lodge is a separate log home connected to the main house, complete with guestrooms, full kitchen and dining. Plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. Marg our host was friendly helpful and insured the privacy of her guests. Hopefully we’ll meet soon at the Lodge at Weirs Beach.
A lovely place to stay. Very welcoming but also giving guests their own space to do as they please with their time. Peaceful and yet not so isolated as to be inaccessible. We would not hesitate to recommend the Lodge to any potential guests.
We stayed 3 nights and loved our beautiful, clean and large room with stunning views of the ocean. The place is cosy and peaceful, there is a large kitchen with all amenities if necessary. The breakfast was great with vegan options if needed. Marg is a delightful owner who welcomes you and makes you feel at home, she was very helpful and saw to our every need.
I have stayed at The Lodge at Weir’s beach twice now and was very happy both times. Our hostess was very inviting and friendly, and the location was fantastic. I wished I could stay longer.I am sure to go back again.
If you are looking for the comforts of home, look no further. This facility is just as beautiful outside as it is inside. Spacious, clean rooms and wonderfully designed grounds make this spot home away from home. The host was friendly and helpful, the view - spectacular. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Will definitely be back!
Our frame of reference for travel/vacation lodging is hotels, not B&B's. For better or worse, prior experience provides a benchmark for evaluating new properties and situations. On the plus side, Marg (the owner) is quite easy-going and friendly. The grounds on which the Lodge is situated are attractive and well maintained, conveying a sense of serenity and love of nature. Our room ("Bayview") was clean and the bed comfortable. The one breakfast we had during our five-night stay was tasty and healthy, an omelet with a side of assorted fresh fruit and fresh locally roasted coffee. Where were we disappointed: both our room and bathroom were lacking in shelf space for the types of things one usually puts on them, especially for a stay of five nights. So, toiletries and other stuff that would normally be placed atop a dresser or desk ended up in a basket. There was no water glass in the bathroom, but we could grab one from the kitchen to bring it up. There were only two bath towels provided in the room, not enough for using both the hot tub outside and showering afterwards; however, when we asked for additional towels, Marg was glad to provide them. Lighting in our room was inadequate for reading; Marg provided a flashlight for us to use for this purpose. There weren't enough electrical outlets for phone chargers and C-PAP machine, but Marg gave us an extension cord to compensate. I put one of our suitcases back in the car, so we wouldn't be stumbling over it in the room. One gets used to having a small in-room refrigerator and microwave oven. We didn't have either, but were encouraged to make use of the refrigerator and microwave oven downstairs in the kitchen. We were asked not to wear shoes in the house, but to leave them by the front or back door and walk in stocking feet (or slippers, for those who thought to bring them) when moving about inside the Lodge. Signs in the bathroom and kitchen reminded us to limit showers to 5 minutes, to conserve water use. In summary, our stay was pleasant enough under the circumstances and we made the best of a situation that involved a number of compromises. However, it is unlikely that we will return here on our next trip to Victoria, given the alternatives available to us. But for other travelers, the beautiful grounds and laid-back vibe of the place may be just what one is looking for. To each his own.
I can't say enough good things about both the setting/the room and the host, Marg. She is wonderful and so helpful, and her breakfasts are great. The room was comfortable and clean and peaceful, though we spent most of our time exploring the area. It was a great space to come back to for the evening. My daughter loved the hottub! We will definitely come again to spend more time on the beach and visit with Marg.
Beautiful location with access to a gorgeous beach ! Marg is very accommodating and the Lodge is roomy and comfortable especially for large groups and special occasions. We are looking foward to staying here again soon!
The home was lovely as my family stayed their for our daughters wedding which was held just up the road at Pearson college. The house was big and spacious enough to host 10 adults and 3 children. The yard is incredible we could have had the ceremony there it was so lovely. Only a few hiccups with our 3 day stay, one being maybe do a walk around with the owner when arriving. Both inside and out, that way both you and the owner are aware of any issues. It’s a large property but the 10 minute walk around would have avoided issue that arose when checking out. In the end all was good and we loved our stay.
