Dreaded Coming Back to our Room

The location was amazing for getting around Verona--we were in the middle of it all BUT coming home each night to sleep was a bit of a nightmare. The bed was EXTREMELY firm--hardly better than sleeping on the floor. The curtains had cigarette burns in then, the decor was quite dated, and there was lipstick left on the glass in the cabinet. The room may have been cleaned prior to our stay but it still felt like a skeevy hotel. I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone else--pay the little extra so you can enjoy coming home from a long day of sight seeing.

Excellent Location

Near to Arena and equidistant from the Duomo & San Zeno - large room, quiet although overlooking a busy road (double glazing) - lots of storage space - shower facilities primitive (bathroom said to be scheduled for remodelling) - only Italian language TV - adequate continental breakfast - excellent secure private parking on site

Lovely stay at the old castle hotel

Love the big room we got that could have easily fit four person! We are only two person travelling. Love the kitchen that comes with it as well cause it kept all our fruits and drinks cool since it was a very hot summer. It was also very near the Arena, so it was great for walking home after an event. Would love to come back again. Breakfast was also awesome! Coffee here was also delicious. Thank you for having us! We enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect position

This hotel is very tied. Really needs a revamp and Iam sure they could charge a whole lot more. However we were there only to sleep. Perfect for us as we only stayed the night in Verona. It was very close to all tourist attractions. Short taxi ride to the railway station.

Very practical. Large room with kitchen and bathroom. Okay but not fancy and rugs a bit threadbare. No art on walls and a bit drab. Great location easy to get bus line right outside. Friendly staff, typical breakfast.

Room was clean but very basic. Bathroom was spacious but the shower was tiny. There is no daily cleaning service but we stayed over the weekend. Location is superb though as walking distance to most of the spots.

Don't pass up as fantastic overall

Fantastic location right on the river. We had a room with french doors leading to 2 balconies with tables and chairs overseeing the river. We had a separate kitchen with a fridge and a huge comfortable queen bed and a dining area with a fireplace(non Working) . The breakfast included juice, coffee of your choice and tea, toast' croissants' fresh rolls, cakes,fruit ,yogurt ,cheeses ,salami and ham. The front desk always very helpful even for printing free of charge. Train station is a 20 minute walk. Great location 5 minute walk to all shopping and restaurants.The arena is about a 3 minute walk with entertainment and restaurants surrounding it. Shower with bathtub always with nice hot water great soaps and shower gell as well as shower caps and fluffy towels. Some areas of this hotel are currently being renovated (you do not hear any noise)so one can look forward to even better accomodations in the future. There is a nicely dressed little old lady ( in her late 80's),so sweet that sits in the lounge snoozing, wanders in and out of the breakfast room and seems to be cared for lovingly by the staff. When asked I was told she's the owner and still is taking an interest in the running of her establishment!

Aged & unfriendly but big rooms & excellent locatn

You can't beat this for a location! It is right in the heart of the action :) The staff on the front desk could however learn to smile once in a while? The room whilst aged was big. Has good and bad points :) Pick what means most to you :)

Great value hotel in the heart of the city

Hotel is in a great position for visiting the sights of Verona. It is clean and comfortable although a little tired and dated. We had not only a double room but a full bathroom, kitchen and seating area!

Great Hotel for the price

There was so much room. It was such a change from every other hotel room we stayed in. We could acutally come back to the hotel and relax. The breakfast was tasty too. The location was excellent; very close to the castle, the arena, and only a 20 minute walk from the train station.

Better not to stay

This hotel is good only to slip over a few hours. I would not recommend it because of the bathroom condition (dropping water and problems with water draining) and extremely modest breakfast.
