Received a warm welcome at our car by Michelle, Chris and Cady. Made to feel at home. Pet friendly for our little Ginger. Room was clean and comfortable. New mattress. An excellent experience for a Bed and breakfast. Homemade breakfast was awesome. Will return if in the area. Thank you for opening your home.
Nice stay, breakfast was wonderful. We'll return when in the area. Thanks for a great stay. Stayed in the Queen room, nice view from deck, across the street from the Seal museum. Close to Ft. Pierce for sightseeing. Jim & Gail
Thank you, Michelle & Chris for making us feel at home at Mellon Patch Inn. What a quiet and cosy place you run. Loved the homemade breakfast and the close location by the sea. We had a nice morning walk. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer.
This was my first experience staying at a B&B, and I couldn’t be happier. I was greeted at the front door by Chris, Michelle, and their daughter, Cady; and immediately felt at home. The house is beautiful, nicely decorated, very clean, very well-maintained. The best part was the hospitality of the owners. They went over-and-above making sure I was well cared for. Michelle prepared a hot, homemade breakfast – something special – every morning. Every day, they asked if I needed anything, or if there was anything they could do for me. Also, they were helpful with advice regarding restaurants, attractions, etc. The location is perfect. It’s on North Hutchinson Island which is quieter and with less traffic than South Hutchinson, yet it’s close to restaurants, attractions, parks, and beaches. Across the street is a large park, with tennis courts and a beach on the Atlantic; down the street is a park with a nature trail along Indian River lagoons. I can highly recommend Mellon Patch, without any hesitation.
We stayed here for 2 nights while in Florida before cruising. Warm welcome by Chris, Michelle, Katie and even the new dog. The B & B is great just across the road from a lovely beach. Our room faced the back overlooking the garden, nice clean room, direct access to outside and to the deck via spiral stairway. Unfortunately I was getting over some food poisoning, so breakfast smelled good, but food just wasn't for me at the time :-( Our mattress could use an update, and the toilet had some issues. All in all we would definitely return to this exact location.
We stayed here on our last 2 nights in Florida before returning home. Warm welcome by Chris and the family. The B & B is great just across the road from a lovely beach. Our room faced the back overlooking the garden nice clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast set you up for the day plenty of choice and the Eggs Benedict were super Chris. Michelle printed our boarding passes and recommended a restaurant and arranged a taxi for us nothing is to much trouble. Hope to return for longer next time and hope you like the mustard Chris!!!!
My images of a nice Bed and Breakfast are of pretty window shutters, wrap-around porches, quaintness, everything sparkling, blah, blah, blah. Mellon's is some of this and not some of this. Cool people, the owners. They greeted us in the parking lot and fixed us a delicious breakfast the next morning. Eggs Benedict made with smaller and better-tasting (pullet?) eggs. A tasty treat and the diced, fried potatoes were delicious. Close to nice beaches and the U.S. Navy Seal Museum. Mellon's is almost oceanside and so is weathered by the wrath of the Atlantic Ocean. A dirty ashtray lingered on the front porch our first day and the back yard looks a bit trashy with a trampoline and an above ground pool. I get business costs and trying to make a profit and trying to draw more customers. But if Mellon's could spice up a little, add some "atmosphere," add some wall hangings in the rooms and do whatever else makes a successful B&B, this place would be a real winner. I was looking for price and the advertised "$132 a night" caught my attention; but add taxes, and tourist fees and all the other Florida state junk and we checked out at $164.00. TripAdvisor needs to do a better job of being up-front with the REAL nightly costs of rooms.
this place was amazing and i couldn't have asked for better food or hosts. I loved it , comfortable and private but still close enough to play all day. I felt so at home and excellent people that will do anything to make your stay more pleasant. they were helpful to find things to do and answer our questions with a warm smile.
Stayed at the Mellon Patch Inn for three days while in Fort Pierce. The inn was a wonderful place to stay. It was clean and very comfortable. Much better than a cold high rise hotel. Michelle and Chris were such wonderful hosts. Felt like we were staying with friends. Michelle made fantastic breakfasts. Had coffee and snacks available 24/7. Nice beach within walking distance from the Inn. Chairs and an umbrella provided by the Inn. Highly recommend. We will be back.
My husband and stayed here one night on our way down the Florida coast. We were greeted as we arrived my Michelle. Michelle and Chris were a lovely young couple and their daughter. The husbands family originated from the UK, hence the English style Bed and Breakfast. Decoration of the property was lovely and our room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good too. Amazing job Chris considering you were managing with one arm!! With snacks, water, and hot drinks on tap 24/7. For people who were staying longer they had beach chairs etc. to borrow.
