We walked from our hotel and pass the outside seating which looked nice and inviting. After a couple hours on the beach in the sun we decided to have a drink and an appetizer. Slow service awful mixed drinks, and we had the mahi fingers four and snack. They were just awful thick breading tasted floury just gross. Worst $30 I ever spent.
Most of the negative reviews are unfair. If you choose a basic room that's what you get. Spend a few extra dollars and stay in the nicer rooms, especially the top floor which is worth every penny. The location is fantastic. From Daytona to Miami there is not a similar room (#12) with the views and deck. For great food go down the street to Mangrove Island from 3-6pm. Half price appetisers (mahi bites, steak skewers, chicken fingers) and drink specials make for a perfect evening.
We were in the area , and wanted to stop here for some lunch. Well not a good idea. We waited for over 45 mins. Maybe even more. We had order an appetizer that was suppose to be fried plantain chips, and other goodies and waited a very long time. When my husband went to find out what was taking them so long, they were saying that they were back up in the kitchen , other people where there waiting as well . The people in front of us got up and left. Any way talking about our appetizer, it was not the plantain chips it was fried wontons, when my husband again asked the waiter he said they were plantains my husband said to him that we were Cuban and that was not fried plantain he didn’t even apologize, he admitted that they were fried wontons. Really I think that’s just falls advertising. So NO I will not be going back there to eat. I should have looked up their reviews.
What happened? Heard it switched hands and got a new name...but.. service was horrible. Our waitress was too busy hanging with buddies on the backside...the women's bathroom on the inside was disgusting. I won't be back anytime soon. Too bad, it has great potential...
Unfortunately I used to like it here. However it gets more rundown each visit. A coat of paint and some weed killer would go a long way. I sat on the chair on the balcony and it was so rusted I fell and hit my head. No one was around to address this. The curtain in my room fell down. They do nothing to upkeep and it is getting seriously run down. My neck hurts from falling and no one has contacted me. I already paid for the weekend or I would go somewhere else. The crowd is getting rougher. I will not come back. Come on guys. You have a great location. Do something!!!!!!!
Went to Rhumcay restaurant last night this place was horrible food was disgusting and the service was horrible wish I could give it a negative. Stay away from here. Had the Piña colada was so sugary and nasty could not drink it. Go somewhere else trust me
Fun place in a prime beach area. Food is decent and the service is great. Get the glider seating that is located by the sidewalk - fun place to watch the world travel past you. Good beer selection as well. We were lucky to be there while there was a space launch from Port Canaveral - could watch the lift-off.
Came for the new weekly special, $5.burger, $10 pitcher of beer. Butger cooked to perfection . Been here many times. A menu items are excellent. Drink prices and ambience great also. Beachside, watching the storm roll in. Love this place. Monthly full moon party a definite plus.
This place has recently rebranded itself as the Rhumcay Resort and Grille. It continues to have the best location on the Jetty with oceanfront location. The history of the old Bar and Grille operation was spotty and the new product appears to be a bit better, although service can be iffy. The prices in the Grille are fair, and you simply can't get a better location to have a happy hour, I think its worth trying.
If you saw this description on a menu, what would you think? "Lobster Sandwich: Hand-picked Lobster served on our Hand Cut Bread with Island Fries & Slaw" I have had many lobster rolls and lobster sandwiches in Maine and Maritime Canada. They typically are comprised of lobster meat mixed with a little mayo and perhaps celery, on a toasted roll or bread. Rhumcay instead served heavily-breaded, deep-fried lobster chunks with aioli on a toasted roll. This was NOT what I was expecting. If a menu item that is not typically fried is done this way, then at least inform the customer! I ate it because I didn't want to cause any ruffles at my dinner with my dining companions, nor the server. But it was frankly not an appealing thing to eat, and they made it even worse by adding oily aioli on a deep fried seafood. The coleslaw had way too much black pepper and someone at my table said it burned his mouth to eat it. The coconut rice was nothing to write home about and it added another rich item to an already fatty meal. This place doesn't have a good reputation around town for their food quality. Sadly, I would not recommend, unless you just want to sip a drink and hang out. Then it's fine.
