The hotel is nice, it was clean but it wasn’t súper súper clean. The staff was very friendly and the location is good near restaurants. The breakfast is good. The attention of the staff was good I needed a bottle water in mid night and they brought it.
Did not know what to expect as this was my first hotel experience in Mexico. The hotel was nice enough, but nothing spectacular. The free breakfast was excellent. My room was ok, lots of tile and little carpet, a little dated and the bathroom was not all that nice. It suited my purposes and the price was very reasonable.
nice hotel but unlike what is advertised the pool is actually in an adjecant hotel but still a nice pool. the breakfast was basic but the staff were very friendly. the hotel is off a very busy roundabout but the noise wasnt an issue.
An older type building still in very good condition, roomy, comfortable rooms with nice views from the balcony, good service and a large restaurant with a varied menu. Only complaint is it has only one ice machine for the entire hotel of 150+ rooms, which now it seems to be broken since I haven't been able to get ice for my beer for the last 3 days.
Hotel has the tipical standards of a holiday Inn. Reception has a weak understanding of what it takes to fulfill costumer satisfaction. Breakfast includes a bit more of what normally is offered in other HIE.
We had a 3-night-stay in this Hotel and we really loved it! It is perfect for children with a pool inside and outside. If you prefere the beach, it's connected directly with a little bridge. The breakfast and meal were delicious. We definitly would come back.
As the other reviewers have mentioned - this is a no frills HIE but in a good location. The room I had was on a higher floor on the south side of the hotel. Double queen beds, decent size, clean, decent size bathroom, mostly quiet. The location is nice with many eating options right around the hotel. The Holiday Inn with the pool and beach access it across the parking lot from the HIE. I stayed for 2 nights and found the breakfast at the hotel to be decent enough, but typical HEI fare. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and professional. Definately suggest getting a room on an upper floor away from the main road in front of the hotel. Overall it is a good place to stay for a couple nights.
The new Holiday Inn Express is built on the same property as the Holiday inn. It is a decent facility. The staff is horrible. Always on their cell phones, not cordial, absent from the desk and poorly trained. The rooms are average. The breakfast is decent. The faculty is an afterthought to Holiday Inn. The location to the plazas and the beachfront is exceptional. Early morning runs are a great experience, or walking on the beachfront at night is nice and relaxing. Boa del Rio has invested much into the area. The Holiday Inn Express should invest more into its' personnel development.
Unfortunately for this hotel, there are several nicer places to stay within walking distance. This, like all Holiday Inn Expresses, is plain jane with no frills. That is why I give it an average rating. It doesn't stand out. That doesn't mean bad or terrible. You will get a decent night sleep in a clean functional room.
Before I start, I would like to mention I got more than 25Mbps of download speed, and more than 50Mbps of upload speed (October 2015). That's an automatic 3 stars for me. Now for the hotel. It's pretty much your standard business class hotel, but with an important extra. It's located right next to another Holiday Inn, but with a great swimming pool and an underground tunnel that takes you to the beach. You can access it with no extra charge. So you go for the business class and get both business and pleasure. The service were pretty nice and the breakfast (already included) was good. It's located in walking distance of a shopping mall and just across the street from the beach. I would totally recommend staying here for business and pleasure.
