We were staying on The Lido Venice and were looking for somewhere really nice for a meal. The location of the restaurant is perfect with stunning views over the lagoon to St Marks square. The sun was setting as we ate which made it even more special. The food and service was impeccable, i had salt baked sea bass and it was superb. We had two courses and three glasses of wine each and the bill came to £107 which is a bit more than some of the restaurants nearby but well worth it for the view, food quality and service.
Relatively easy check in for a four night stay. Room is sweet, but quarters are tight for 4 people with sofa bed in living area of the suite. Most disappointing, was stepping out onto deck overlooking the water; gorgeous view but lots of pigeon poop right where we step out and one metal folding chair. Empty flower pots half full of dry soil with last seasons dry plant remains in them. The other properties within view had lovely flower boxes. A few pretty blooms would have made all the difference in the world for our first experience in Venice! Will write more after our entire stay!
We stayed here 3 nights before a cruise. The hotel is clean comfortable rooms. Located just steps away from the water bus to Venice. Best view of Venice sunsets on the island of Lido. Away from the noise and congestion of Venice. Bus comes by every 10 minutes. About a 10 minute ride to Saint Marks Square. Breakfast was good. Fresh squeezes OJ was a plus. Staff was incredibly helpful and spoke perfect English. I would not stay any where else. Ask for a lagoon view it's worth the extra price.
We came here for 5 nights for our 4th wedding anniversary, on the Thursday the day of our anniversary, we came down for breakfast and preceded to go onto the deck, which has the fantastic views of Venice, a waiter said no, go inside - breakfast inside, (there were several people already sitting outside) so needless to say this annoyed me, I went to reception to complain, who had a word with the waiter and said nothing she could do, I asked for a manager, not in! By now I was fuming - eventually I was told I could sit outside. Apparently after speaking to 2 ladies from holland the waiter had been very rude to them as well. Very very poor customer service!!! I spoke to the manager later the same day, even though he apologised, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that the location was good for the lido (knowing what I know now - I would have stayed in San Polo, where I'd find another fantastic hotel) we were upgraded to a suite when we arrived, which was nice - good size room, the hotel was clean, but a bit out of date and certainly in need of some TLC, we were woken up early hours of the morning with the radiator bagging! If it wasn't for that waiter, who ruined the morning of our anniversary, I would have given 4 stars - but considering the whole point of booking this hotel was for that deck/view - I can't get passed it!
Lovely hotel, stayed in a lagoon view room (214). The hotel is 3 floors i think, but there is a lift. The staff were fantastic, as it was our anniversary the day we arrived, my husband had set up with the hotel (Fjorda) to have a bottle of prosecco and a bouquet of roses waiting in the room. The hotel had set it up perfectly, and were very attentive. The suite was wonderful, there is a seperate living room, bedroom and bathroom, all were clean and nicely furnished. The rooms are themed venetian style, so dont expect ultra modern, but it all fits very well. The bed was extremely comfortable, and very clean, the bedding was changed as and when you needed it, the same with the towels in the bathroom. The room includes a free minibar, which has bottled water, coca cola, fanta and Peroni, this gets replenished daily, very nice after a long day out exploring. The view from the room is just stunning, especially at sunset. The room was very quiet, we occasionally heard speedboats outside, but it wasnt a bother at all. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, we went at several different times during the week and it was never busy, plenty of tables free. The food on offer was nice, bread,toast, coissants, eggs, yoghurt, little cakes, cheeses and ham. The coffee from the machine was tasty, they also had a orange juicer for fresh orange juice, which was delicious! We ate at the restaurant one evening, which was really tasty, as it was our anniversary, we had reserved a table, which they had set up with rose petals and heart shaped lights, it was really pretty. Unfortunatly through some confusion of our own, we had sat outside, as we were unsure where we had to go as there was no one seating anybody, we had got there a little early and i dont think they started serving food till a bit later. We were then seated inside as we were eating, it was then we noticed the table and explained we had reserved, so we didnt actually sit at this lovely decorated table. But we really appreciated the effort they had put in. So if you reserve, make sure you go in through the hotel and tell the receptionist. The location of the hotel is really close to the vaparetto stop, which took 10-15 minutes getting accross to st marcs square. Its really easy to navigate the vaparettos as they have a map, very similar to the underground map. The alilaguna blu/rossa takes about an hour to and from the airport from this stop. I would definatly recommend this hotel, it was wonderful, the staff were so helpful and attentive, they went over and above to help!
Lucky to book the suite with balcony looking over the lagoon to Venice. This hotel is spotless and the service from every member of staff was friendly. Our suite was well furnished and the bed linen was of a very a good quality. Great outdoor lounge area and restaurant. Very convenienlty located next to the water taxi station. We had to leave very early for our flight home and they gave us a bag containing fruit juice and biscuits as we missed breakfast.
Stayed at this hotel for my mums birthday treat in march , a good month to visit great weather to walk around Venice - not too hot !! Fabulous small hotel , only 20 rooms. Swift communication by email from the reception desk - top marks to you all . Info readily available if you need it along with maps etc This is a traditional hotel which seems to have little alteration over the years , don't be expecting modern furniture and 5 star deco . This is however what visiting Italy is all about ,this hotel is Murano glass chandeliers , wooden furniture and Venetian hospitality . Rooms are clean and adequate with lovely views (room 206) over the lagoon . We also had a small fridge , gratis water and basic toiletries provided. We ate in the restaurant only once , large starter portions , good wine . Francesco looks after you well and is very charming . Breakfast is basic, but enough for a start to your day - good coffee . Breakfast waiter very smiley and helpful . There is also a super market a short distance away - opposite the front of the hotel straight ahead then bear left . Water taxi is the way to go when you arrive !! You'll never forget it ( plenty on line , easy to find at airport , all the taxis seem to have a kiosk for info and arrivals . The water bus is literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel garden patio area , get a 2/3 day pass at the machine just before you enter for the water bus waiting area . San Marco only 2 stops away , this is the benefit of staying on the lido , its lovely and quiet and so close to everything by bus . Don't think you can fault much at this hotel for a short break . Info - Visit the ghetto area if you have time . If you are short of time I'd leave Burano and Murano a miss and see more of Venice , we booked a free walking tour on line - which I'd recommend . Gondolas are a set price of €80 for half an hour , u can share with others up to 6 . Pick a quieter area to pick one up though , otherwise the canals get really jammed up in popular areas around San Marco & the Rialto . Go around the back streets get lost, find a bar and ENJOY ........ .😊
We loved our stay at Villa Laguna. In my opinion, Lido is a better location than staying in Venice itself. Very close to the boat area (actual walking distance) and beautiful views of Venice. Lido has less tourists so its a great place to unwind after walking around Venice. Very helpful staff and the garden suite was adorable!! I would stay again and recommend this place to anyone visiting Venice in the future.

We had 3 nights in this hotel.in a suite. The suite was lovely , with everything clean and tidy. I really can t fault anything at this hotel at all, the staff were very helpful and the food was amazing. Its hard to say what we liked best, but the view was like something out of a film. Its hard to beat looking out of the window and seeing Venice accross the water first thing in the morning,!
