We all love it,stuff is very nice, location is very good
I pay a room with breakfast. As I will have an early flight, was making for a refund of it, as I won't be able to have breakfast. I was told " We can not refund anything, but we can give you a breakfast lunch box" OK, next day at 5 am, was not box and the kitchen was closed. So no refund either box to go. They did not wake me ump as planned, I was lucky I had my alarm set up in my phone The taxi they supposed to reserved never showed up. I had to go to the pier and after waiting a while was lucky to catch one
Found a nicely decorated room adjacent to Piazza San Marco with a wealth of nearby shopping and dining choices... my only complaint was the weight of the room key fob. Fortunately, it was winter and I could carry it in my jacket. If it was summer, I would be more critical. I suppose I could leave it at reception when I went out, but that would be inconvenient.
Hotel was in a great location. Staff was very friendly. The only negatives were that the rooms were very hot so I found it difficult to sleep at night and while they do offer to hold your bags after you check out, it is not in a secure location so anyone could grab your bag.
We were staying over night in Venice to go on a cruise. This was the perfect place easy to find and can walk to everything.
The location of this hotel was wonderful but the room is tiny, outdated, smells bad and looks filthy. When I first checked into the room, I wanted to find another hotel but with that budget I couldn't find anything in the center of Venice. I'm sorry but I would not recommend this hotel at all.
Terrific hotel in a very exceptional location. My room looked out on a canal. With one exception, staff were exemplary in their friendliness and service. I would definitely stay here again.
Everything was fine. The staff, location, breakfast, and most all the bartender....neat guy.
This was a good hotel with large rooms. Best of all was the location - just 100 yards or so from the square.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night but it was a good location off San Marco square. Not too close but close enough to access water taxi etc. Room and bath were clean and modern. Bed was comfortable.
The lobby is incredible with fancy wood work and marble everywhere but our room was plain and felt a little worn out. There was scuffs on the walls, a dirty shower curtain, and a wiggly door handle. Having just came from Rome and a much more modern hotel, I was bummed to be spending the same rate per night for an old room without a view and a the minor frustrations of having to pay for wifi access and a 15 euro per personal breakfast buffet. The location however is great as it is less that 30 seconds from the hotel to the Piazza San Marco. And, for my in the summer heat, the AC was awesome and worked great. Lastly the majority of the staff we spoke with was helpful and kind.
We only spent a night and the only issue with the location is that the nigh life is pretty much dead in the San Marco area. However, during the day, it just doesn't get any better. It's only about a 50 feet walk to San Marco's square. The room was basic, old venetian style and the bathroom quite clean and pretty modern. We got a room with a balcony overlooking one of the canals which was really cool. The staff was helpful and quick on check-in check-out.
Fantastic location. The room made me think of a musty cheap backroads motel. The mattress was concave so I kept rolling to the center of the bed. I picked it for its location which delivered. However, I wasn't prepared for the kind of room for the price paid.
The staff was fairly friendly and could speak English. There are virtually no amenities and despite some claims for free internet, there is no such thing. The hotel is very close to the main tourist attractions and very convenient to everything; however, be prepared--it is SOOOOO dirty. I mean uncomfortably dirty. I really didn't feel right even sleeping in the bed (which is visibly drooping when you enter the room). Try not to touch the shower walls. As an adult, you can handle it for a night but I do not recommend taking children because of cleanliness concerns.
This hotel had a great location, only a block from Piazza San Marco, which is the heart of Venice. The room was very mediocre... Did not look anything like the picture on the website... We were only there for one night and only really went to the hotel to sleep, but the room was tight and had that old place smell, although the sheets and towels were clean... At least the a/c was working well. The staff was also pretty nice.
Wonderful room with view of a canal. Only a one to two minute walk to the square. Room was small, but comfortable. Only drawback was very tiny shower and a window in the bathroom overlooking the adjacent building. Quiet stay. Front desk staff were very helpful in giving directions, arranging travel, etc. Breakfast had nice choices.
Convenient to St. Mark's Square, quiet hotel. Room was small but adequate. Very clean, and bathroom had a good shower. Breakfast buffet is included, but the layout of the dining room leads to chaos when it's busy, and it was busy every day. Hard for the staff to keep items stocked, hard to gather what you want. Suggestion: check the flyers of tours and special activities that you can sign up and pay for through the hotel; we did a fun wine tasting evening and a good behind-the-scenes walking tour this way.
This hotel is perfect for your Venice stay. Quiet, air conditioned, breakfast in the morning, withing walking distance of the San Marco Piazza, restaurants, gondola rides, and the water buss. You can walk from the train to the hotel. staff is knowledgeable and accommodating!
Getting to the hotel was a nightmare. There are not many signs to let you know where to go, so arrive knowing exactly where to go. Do not take much luggage with you because you will have to park your vehicle in a parking ramp, walk to the ferry, ride the ferry for about 30 minutes, and then walk for another 10 minutes, hoping to find the hotel. The price for the ferry includes one bag per person, but they weren't to strict about that. Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff was nice and we found a nice lobby, but we also found a very small room. The furnishings reminded me of those of my great grandmother. Breakfast was just alright. There were few options and the coffee was hard to swallow. Be prepared to pay a lot for food and to see the same stereotypical options of spaghetti, pizza, and lasagna everywhere. Many places add a cover charge as well as a service charge. But the location was fantastic. It is truly an amazing city.
Venice is such a jumble, streets twist and turn in unpredictable ways and street numbers are creative. We had been looking for the hotel and thought we must have taken yet another wrong turn ( and this is WITH map in hand) when there it was. It is very close to Piazza San Marco, so that once located it is easy to get back too. Our room was clean and had every amenity that we needed, including air conditioning which was much appreciated. I thought the room rate was quite reasonable, although it did not include breakfast. The clerk offered that we could get breakfast in their cafe for 25 euros. That doesn't seem all that reasonable to me. I would certainly recommend the Royal San Marco Hotel to a friend. The staff were helpful and the location is a real plus.
