I honestly didn't consider this hotel at first because I thought the name "A Tribute to Music" was so hokey! I was looking for something in close proximity to the San Zacciara vaporetti & airport shuttle stops and this fit the bill. It is hard to find the entrance because it is hidden behind tacky souvenir shops on the Riva (but our room was quiet even though it overlooked those shops). Staff is friendly and helpful (for example, the breakfast room is quite small, so they will let you know when a table is available). Room was small, but not by Venetian standards, and I thought the bathroom was excellent by old-Italian-building standards.
Room was lovely Location excellent easy access to water ferry services loads of restaurants within walking distance. Only negative lift small and pillows and bed hard warm shower I wouldn't say hot but enjoyed our 3 day visit
It is at very central location, you open the door and the street full of people, ask your self would you stay at such place ? Because it is very central so everything expensive close to the hotel. Venice is more beautiful more you go inside. Its a strange place, to go to your room we had to open four different doors. Front door, lift ( you can only use it by key), open the door with key at your floor and then your room door. Everytime you leave hotel, you have to leave your room key at reception, not sure how unsafe the place is. Most disappointing was breakfast. Very basic breakfast. Staff are okay but not very helpful. Staff that serve you breakfsst only speach Italian, which I dont mind. Actually it is good that they give job to local people who feel proud to talk in their local language. So learn basic italian words when you go for breakfast. Lot of mosquitos to bite you at night, I will not stay thier again, would stay to the close by islands or at quite location in Venice.
Enjoyed stay here. Staff excellent and helpful. Breakfast continental and very nice - selection of meat and cheese -good bread and cappuccino. Room nice - a bit small but large bathroom. Very clean. Close to St. Marks and very close to water transport.
Very central position. My daughter and I had a lovely room with a view over the lagoon.Large bathroom but shower not too good. Continental breakfasts were very good with lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. On the whole it was very good value and we would stay there again.
To be honest, I can‘t believe any of those positive reviews. Hotel on very noisy street - sound isolation from both inside and outside - terrible. Room was very dark and small. Feeling like that is not a hotel, but some student bedsit from mid-70. There are plenty better hotels in Venice, they are more expensive, but they look like hotels. It needed refurbishment 10 years ago.
Booked this hotel with sister in circa April 2017. A Tribute to Music offered us some rooms with canal view in which were interesting to us, with an excellent value. Don't be "deceived" by its outdoor looks, since what you get will be much interesting, much better. We actually got a classic-tinged room with a really good canal view, and we were so delighted to see the canals from room's balconies - very exquisite. The room had complete appliances we needed, also a surprisingly spacious bathroom. Backdrop/wallpaper and carpet might appear old, but for us they added some classical atmosphere to our Venice experience. Breakfast was situated in first floor; although the room was small and menus were simple, the kitchen staff was very friendly. The front-door staffs (Giuliano and Manuel) were also friendly and helpful, even with the wi-fi problem (wi-fi didn't work during our short stay). They were able to provide you pick-up service, private service, water taxi order, etc; you name them; with plenty of suggestions. Last but not least, they would e-mail you their super-complete guide about location, how to reach, and Venice events during your stay - after you complete your booking. I would say I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Venice. Keep the good work!
Great location, lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Overall good value for money. Basic breakfast, very small bathroom and the bed was a bit hard in my opinion. But perfect for a short stay in Venice.
Although the building is dated, the room was clean and looked onto the canal but Thor BEST thing was the service. We were treated so well! The gentlemen on both shifts went out of their way to be sure that not only we were safe but also arranged for sightseeing we would have missed! And the breakfast left nothing to be desired!
From arriving at the airport the vaporetto took us almost to the door of the hotel. We were welcomed warmly and were told we had been upgraded to a superior room without even asking. The room was fabulous but the main attraction were the two double windows that completely opened opened wide overlooking the lido. We had fantastic views of the bay and were literally 5 minutes away from st Marks square and basilica, the bridge of sighs, the doges palace and several vaporetto stops that would take us anywhere we needed to go. On our last day the receptionist asked us what are plans were, and when we said we were going to see the Murano glass factory, he laid on a complimentary speedboat taxi to Murano, where we were given 5* treatment. Breakfast, although basic, was in a delightful room with a lovely view and sound of nearby church bells and was certainly sufficient for us. An absolutely delightful stay, and I would recommend this lovely hotel highly.
