We had an amazing stay. We had two rooms on the 4th floor with incredible views of the water. The rooms have character. They are cousy. One them had skylights and wood everywhere. Staff were friendly, helpful, nice and most importantly very honest. I forget 2000$ cash in the safe and only realized the day after. I called them from florence and they were nice enough to check and hold it for me. Im very happy we found this hotel :)
We booked a top floor room for five nights. On our arrival the room smelled awful...liked a backed up toilet. The receptionist said it was the Lagoon. We noted that no other palce in or out of the hotel smelled foul. We were moved to a room in the annex for the night. The next morning the room we had booked continued to smell bad and we were told it was because of the air conditioning unit. Later that day we were given a third explanation for the odor...obviously, they either did not know or did not care. We elected to remain in annex for our entire stay. The room in the Annex was not as spacious as the room we booked. It was on a lower floor, it did not have cooking facilities, and it did not have a balcony, which we were particularly looking forward to using. We asked the manager for a discount since we had booked into a more expensive room (I had made the mistake of paying in full in advance). I pointed out that we were returning guests, having stayed at Tribute several times prior. He said I would have to contact the owner, which I did. The owner considered the matter until we were safely gone, then decided not to comply. Clearly, being a return customer had no impact. I would not stay at this place if it were free.
Stayed here for 3 nights in the very cold weather last week. It is a small hotel facing the lagoon The room was comfortable and warm the bathroom immaculate and had a very comfortable bed It is a small hotel with no bar or frills but amazing value for money and well situated for the airport transport and sightseeing The staff were excellent- pleasant helpful and well-informed
Brilliant place to stay for a break in Venice. You couldn’t ask for a better location. Less than a 10 minutes (stroll along the delights of the Grand Canal) from the madness of St Mark’s Square. We had room 303 which, although narrow, is beautifully presented with a nice bathroom and an amazingly comfortable bed (new we were told). The star of the show is the view. WOW! I won’t waste time explaining as I’ll do it an injustice. Go on to the hotel website and check out the live webcam. I only left it 8hrs ago and I’m already in withdrawal. A special mention for Carlo and his very team. Everyone is very friendly, make you feel incredibly welcome and are always on had with advice for food and adventures.
A Tribute to Music is a quaint hotel in an amazing location facing the canal, with a five minute walk to San Marco square. We chose to take a water taxi from the airport, and the water taxi stop is very close to the hotel (50 m). Room 401 has a terrace with a beautiful view of the canal. It is a wonderful place to sit and relax and enjoy simply being in Venice. The staff were very friendly and eager to assist. Carlo was wonderful at suggesting places to visit and dine, including the cozy Scalinetto close by. While you can have your breakfast brought to your room and enjoy it on the terrace, we went to the breakfast room each day. The breakfast server was very friendly, and her lattes and hot chocolates were wonderful. We regretted not being able to speak Italian with her, as she seemed very kind. The selection for breakfast was excellent: cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, and a nice selection of fresh pastries. We left the key with the front desk when we left our room, but the room did have a safe for belongings (there are actually a number of keys: for the elevator, access to your floor, and your room key). You must get “buzzed in” by the front desk when entering the hotel. However, the hotel is an older building, and has issues that one might expect of an older hotel: the elevator is very compact, and only goes to the 3rd floor. Room 401 would not be a good choice if you cannot manage a flight of stairs. The mattress was quite firm, and the pillows were thinner that I am used to when travelling in North America. However, they did supply bathrobes and slippers in the room. The bathroom is nice with a claw foot bathtub, but be careful on the beautiful marble floor and the sloped ceiling with exposed wooden beams. There is no shower curtain, so showering can be a bit tricky. There were issues with the hot water and wifi that took a few hours to fix, but they were able to rectify the issues once they were able to call in the appropriate servicemen to assist. We could hear the noise from the local tourist shops/restaurants/water traffic outside even at night. I was able to sleep through the sounds, but my husband was not.
I have just spent 3 days in Venezia and stayed at this hotel, the location is great , 5 mins walk from San Marco but in a quiet area of Arsenale, Carlo was fantastic, assisting with best places to eat , what to do and see and generally very helpful. He organized a trip to Murano for us and when it came to looking after our bags etc he was very sympatico . Intend going back in 3 months time
We really enjoyed our stay at A Tribute To Music. The staff was very kind and welcoming. And they recommended many excellent restaurants and local spots to go and take beautiful pictures. Our room had a beautiful view of the lagoon and the sunsets were incredible. We loved our breakfast server so sweet and she makes the best espresso and cappuccinos. The location was excellent, 10 minute walk to San Marcos square. Lots of great restaurants nearby including one of our favorties Scalinetto recommended by Carlo.
In our life it is good to splurge a few times and I have done that to stay here, booking the penthouse terraced room. On my last trip to Venice I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel on the entrance to the Grand Hotel. The first time I stayed here they upgraded me to one of their rooms on the top floor with a terrace. So I called several months in advance and specifically asked for room 401 which has a terrace. It has french doors leading to your own terrace. There is only one other room on this floor, also with a terrace. They will bring your breakfast up to you, a big tray of lovely food and you can dine and have some coffees overlooking the entrance to the Grand Hotel....so memorable. I had four nights here and will be back again....because it is worth the cost of having one of the finest memorable rooms overlooking the waters and the water born traffic of Venice.....very very highly recommended :)
Pros: great location, decent size bathroom Cons: rooms are dusty so gave me an allergic reaction, mattress didn't feel comfortable, having to leave key with front desk, front desk staff hit or miss The cons outweighed the pros for us. However, you can consider if you are looking for a centrally located hotel.
We were recommended to stay at 'A Tribute to Music' by my sister and partner who had stayed there before. We stayed for four nights and were lucky enough to be able to book one of the rooms with a roof terrace for three of them. We enjoyed our lovely breakfast there each morning watching the world go by. The room was very spacious and even had a small kitchen, dining and sitting room area along with a large bathroom. We had to move to another room for our last night but that wasn't a problem as we just had to pack and our bags were transferred to our new room by the hotel staff. All of the staff could not have been more helpful recommending good places to eat and visit. We would definitely stay there again.
