Before travel to Venice , we choose to stay in Hotel Villa Edera in Lido di Venezia . Place was perfectly choosen to be out of crowded Venice , 15 min away with Water Bus . Hotel is quite , small and clean , which is exactly what we needed.
I was here as a child when it was a "Pensione" Now it is a small and cosy hotel in a classical Venetian style. Rooms are small but nicely decorated. We stayed on the top in "Privato" a small room with two good beds and a huge terrace. The aircon is weak so it becomes very hot at night. The shower is ok but it runs down in a tub for sitting / not easy to shower here. We suggest they remove the tub and install a shower curtain or wall instead - they could also make a small window from the bathroom to the street so it could be ventilated.
I booked this hotel for a trip with my girlfriend on her birthday. The prices were reasonable I thought for Venice so I went ahead and booked. Arrived at Venice, got the water taxi all the way up to Lido which although it took a while was actually a lovely little boat trip through the main canal through Venice. Arrived at Villa Edera, no lights on, gate locked, no signs of any life. Small note attached to gate, addressed to myself "check yourself in" I mean that's weird ain't it. Access code for the gate, we lets ourselves in. Walked in, lights off! I mean it looked like the owners did a runner. Again another note on reception, room key etc. We go up, room looks a little dated but had that Venetian charm about it. Had a great view looking down on the street below. Tv was the size of a tablet, and the bathroom wasn't much bigger. You could hardly shut the door if you were sat on toilet. I think there are camper vans with bigger bathrooms. Breakfast was ok but very basic, no frills. No hot food. Staff were ok apart from the manager. I won't beat about the bush, he was a bit of a prick. Grumbled and groaned and basically wasn't very helpful. It's a shame as lido is actually quite charming, and a nice escape from the madness of Venice, we even cycled around the island to the pine forest which was fantastic. I'd recommend Lido, not this hotel.
Small but comfortable room with small outdoor area Close to Vaporetto , shops and restaurants .We found Lido a good place to stay when visiting Venice ,come home to some peace and quiet after the hustle amd and bustle
This hotel was discusting with mold and mildew in the bathroom. The shower leaked, there was dust and dirt on the floor. I showed the front desk the pictures and they didn't even want to listen to what I had to say. I've sent them emails with no response from them. I would have left initially except there were no other hotels available in Venice or Venice-Lido. My reservations were during their Carnival and all other hotels were booked and sold out.
Very comfortable rooms and good breakfast. We came by ferry from the Piazzale roma within 30 minutes. Even we came late they waited for us and let us check-in. Highly recommended and facilities are up to 4 star hotel.
Hotel was quite nice. Personell was helping, room was cleaned. Because of we stayed in the end of year, temperatures was quite low (almost 0°C) and there was only blanket, we had to used air conditioning during night to heat, it was quite noise. In the morning, we was waked up by noises from kitchen, which was opposite our door to room. Breakfast was ok. We liked our stay, for our money, we get what we wanted - to sleep near Venice.
Very chic. Located locally and just a water taxi away from sights. It was so nice to be in this area. So so peaceful and the staff was great. The room is very romantic with just enough room for two. Perfect price too! We had a delayed flight and ultimately arrived after hours and the concierge left our key at the check in for us. This was my first trip to Venezia and it won't be my last, I am deff booking with Villa Edera next time.
Would definitely recommend staying in lido the vapretto waterbus station was a five minute walk through the little town square and we never waited anymore than 2 to 3 minutes for a bus. Not to mention a little boat ride down to st marcs was a very enjoyable start to the day. The shops bars and restaurants in lido were much nicer and cheaper and the food was better as it wasn't all overprices tourist food like on the mainland. As for the hotel, we got a free wifi code valid for 24 hours which was great as you could log in and out and save the hours. Free continental breakfast each day which served us well till lunch. Mini pastries toasts jams spreads cereals 2 Types of cold cuts cheese and boiled eggs juices and coffee. The room itself was tiny, though we spent little to no time in the room and this was mostly okay the rooms are very small. Not a lot of room for two people to get dressed but for the price it was very reasonable and we managed. The bathroom was even smaller and this was a bit tricky the shower head was broken so it didn't stay up and they were unable to fix it during our stay but again we made do. For the location and price this is a lovely budget hotel - really has everything you need in venice Few minor issues but nothing that would stop us coming back Thanks so much!
Room was clean. Quiet place although not well isolated from noise in the corridor. Rich and healthy breakfast Convenient location: it is at a short walk distance from the boarding pier. Personnel was very nice!
