Beautiful place to stay, close enough to Verona. Simone is a great host, happy to share his house and home baked breakfast with you. The villa has a quiet garden where you can hide from the summer heat or enjoy a relaxing evening. Totally recommended
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at Villa Beatrice. The hotel is spotless and bed linen and towels were changed every two days, the room was also air conditioned which was essential in temperatures of 30 degrees. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection for all tastes even a gluten free section The hotel is situated in Alberoni at the end of the island and is only a ten minute walk to the beach, frequent buses make the 20 minute journey to Santa Maria Elisabetta where the ferry's run to Venice and the Airport. This was a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay with a nice garden area. Beatrice was also very pleasant and helpful host.
Found the hotel Villa Beatrice on TripAdvisor. The room was lovely and clean and nicely decorated. The complimentary breakfast was really nice with delicious fresh bread and homemade jam, there was a good selection of cold meat and cheese also yogurt and cereals. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned every day. Don't let the position of the hotel put you off, the transport system is fantastic with regular bus service to where you catch the ferry to Venice and beyond. Really recommend buying the ACTV ticket for your duration it paid dividends. Won't hesitate to stay here again.
Location: 20 mins in bus (from lido stop) Pros: Spacious room, with an ancient theme (loved the interiors). a super clean place. Breakfast included we we allowed to have break-fast in the garden a perfect getaway with your partner. Good pubs near by totally loved this place.
We stayed at hotel villa beatrice, the hotel is very cosy, we stayed in room number 10 the room was ok with a clean private bathroom and a nice balcony, we enjoyed having our breakfast in the garden and it delecious was home made
Very small hotel with lovely garden & very quiet setting. Need to catch bus (just outside) to Port Elizabetha (approx. 30 mins ride) for water ferry to Venice (approx. 45 mins) A few restaurants nearby & close walk to beach, which is very rugged & natural. Rooms basic with wet room for shower, so don't put anything on the floor!! Also BEWARE mosquitos!! I got bit to death even though we had a repellant plugged in!!! Lovely setting to sit & have an evening drink in the garden, so quiet you could hear a pin drop!! Reception man & owners very friendly & accomadating.
Hotel Villa Beatrice is excellent providing all the comforts at the best quality. The breakfast is very rich of very good quality, with aythentic Italian tastes, very nicely served in a very nice environment The room was more than perfect. It had everything we wanted. The bed was bigger than a kingsize bed, the decoration of the room was very nice, the space was huge very clean, the quality of towels, pillows were perfect. The bathroom was huge, with nice view outside. Everything was working perfect , There is a very good heat if needed, very good aircondition in the spacious rooms, very modern bathroom with plenty of hot water) .Everthing was so well organized (double pillows, double sets of towels etc.) . Very quiet place, very well decorated. It was so cosy where we felt like being at home Ms. Beatrice is very professional and really respects and helps all her guests. She assisted us many times and we really thank her. Because of the Easter days , having to return back at 4.30 am she kindly provided to us all the keys to enter our place, and the morning the breakfast was served for us although was very late . We really thank her. She helped also with her computer that was very important. Very good management in everything. This Hotel advertsises less but provides more. The transportation is perfect during 24 hours a day. The bus is 2 minutes from the hotel. It was an excellent choice to be in Lido, more than excellent choice to book our room in Hotel Villa Beatrice. I am looking forward to go to Venice but only if I stay in this Hotel. We enjoyed this excellent hotel .
My wife and I differed on our evaluation of this hotel. I would have given it 4 stars but she would have given it only two. We were a family of 4 travelling with a 9 year old and a 4 year old. We are experienced travellers that are used to backpacking around more difficult places than Italy and both speak a little Italian. Even so, The location problem that others reviewed about is significant and I can see that for most travellers it could be a real problem. For most families touring Venice, it is too far from the major historical sites. While we enjoyed the beach, even that is a significant walk from the hotel and no one should expect that this is a beachfront hotel where you only need to walk out to the sand and sea from the hotel lobby. The staff and owner tried hard. However, A local explained to me that the public transportation routes are often changing and we found we got much better advice about getting to or from the hotel from others than the hotel staff. The male concierge gave us good directions to the airport from the hotel at the end of our stay. Beware though, the owner gave terrible directions from the train station for when we arrived. She is very nice but just not good. Had we been less experienced travellers and unable to communicate with locals to get good directions, we would have been screwed especially travelling as we were with two young kids. We waisted a lot of time, hours, locating and walking from the train station to the boat bus stop she told us to take when, as it turned out, another boat went to the exact place, was more frequent, much closer to the train station, though probably made a few more stops. The wifi reception in the room was good. The breakfast was basic. Bathroom facilities were good. No safe in the room. There are a couple of ok restaurants near the hotel for other meals--though Lido, the island where this hotel is, is more expensive than Venice for food and shopping options. In short, this hotel is not in "Venice." The implications of this weigh heavily on issues of convenience of transportation to Venice's major tourist places as well as the hotel staff's personal knowledge about good things to do in Venice. This was the last leg of our trip in Italy. In our hotels in Rome and Florence we enjoyed getting good advice about good things to do with a family from hotel staff. While the staff at the Beatrice were nice, we quickly learned that a conversation with them about what to do in "Venice" was about as useful as it would have been about what to do in Timbuktoo. Nevertheless, it was not a bad place to relax as long as you do not mind being far from historical Venice--it's sites, restaurants, stores, and entertainment options.
Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. Quiet and nice, close to Alberoni beach and the boat terminal to Venice. You need to take the bus or car to go to Lido, but for us it was not a problem at all, as we used our own car to travel on the island. Our children enjoyed playing in the garden and the owner and stuff are really friendly and helpful. The entire island was a pleasant surprise for: not crowded, beaches were wonderful, perfect getaway for a nice and restful holiday at the sea. We definitely recommend it for families with children.
From the airport, buy a round-trip Alilaguna ticket at the water bus terminal outside the airport and take the water bus that goes to Lido. Lido is about 1 hour by water bus from the airport but only 10 minutes by water bus to Venice. Alilaguna is the company that provides water bus services to/from the airport. ACTV is the company that provides water bus services between Venice and neighboring islands. Hotel Villa Beatrice was a little hard to find at first, only because we had not mapped it before our arrival. If you want to map it first, the water bus will arrive on Lido at SME (Santa Maria Elizabetta street). First, buy an unlimited bus pass for the timeframe you will be there. It can be purchased from kiosks or from the ticket booth at the water bus terminal and it will work for both the land buses and the water buses to/from Venice and other islands. From the water bus stop, take the "A" bus which parks just outside the water bus station. It will travel toward Alberoni. After about 4 km, the bus will follow alongside the water for quite a distance. At the end of the water, the bus will make a sharp left turn, and there will be a stop outside "Hotel Orio" (on right side of bus). That is your stop. Get off and follow the sign to Villa Beatrice which is down a small side-street (Via die Villini). The bus ride between Lido and Villa Beatrice takes only about 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was perfectly clean, the bed was very comfortable (somewhat firm like we like it). The internet worked fine, and you can add multiple devices. The building is older, but well maintained (all buildings in the Venice area are old which is part of the charm)! The area is VERY quiet and only steps from the Venice Lagoon and about a 5 minute walk to a public beach on the Aegean Sea. The bus stop to Lido is right outside. There are a couple restaurants and bars near the hotel but lots of restaurants etc. in Lido. About one street west of the the main street (Santa Maria Elizabetta) in Lido is a grocery store called Coop if you want to get supplies for the frig in your room (although it comes stocked with various drinks). From Lido, it is a 10 minute water bus ride to Venice. It was terrific to visit Venice but come "home" to quiet, relaxing Villa Beatrice on Lido.
