I would have paid a lot more than €35 a night for the room that we stayed in. It was clean, cosy and with a small balcony with a view over the Main Street, which was a nice touch. The hotel owner was friendly and helpful, and available most hours of the day and night. The hotel itself is on the island of Lido that is not on the 'main' island of Venice, but the waterbus runs there regularly and there's plenty of shops and restaurants on Lido, as well as a long beach.
The hotel is ok, modest but clean and organized. Make sure that if you add the ride fare to Venice (at least 7.50 euros each way which means 15 euros per day per person) to the room rate, you don't pay the same for a hotel in ...Venice... it's not subway ride and rather annoying-the schedule is not frequent and the ride itself is not short as many picture it:)
Only noticed on my second night that there were these little things on the bed... BED BUGS! Yes, you could think its a clean place, or at least clean enough... but bed bugs are no fun. I did not get bit which makes me think there weren't many I saw around 5 on the bed I slept in and only one of them big enough to be an adult which I smushed into oblivion... I think other travelers might have been luckier, my friend's bed to which I moved later had none... Otherwise hotel is ok, you get what you pay for here. And they throw in the bed bugs for free I guess. Staff not really pleasant, but this is common in Venice in some places. Location in Lido is good otherwise and quite a scenic place to stay at the end of the main street. I personally will not go back. And do NOT RECOMMEND!
We paid quite a bit for our room as we were in Venice during the Film festival, but nevertheless, I was pleased with this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, and its location was excellent, on the Lido's main drag, about 5 mins from SME and 5 mins from the beach. Breakfast was fine - croissants, rolls, fruit, yogurt. All in all, a really good choice for the lido if you're looking for a basic decent hotel.
If you're looking for a modern, generic or high tech hotel, look elsewhere. But if you enjoy a step back in time to imagine what Venice might have been like in the 1950's, this hotel might be the place for you. The hotel has very basic facilities, no air conditioning in early September nights was a problem for sleep, also a very hard bed. there was a fan in the room, and the windows opened wide so you can get some air through the room. The decor has a faded elegance to it, I liked the wooden shutters and walk down the tiled staircase. The hotel has 3 floors and no lift. The staff were very friendly and as a solo traveller I felt very safe in the hotel. The location is great, a short walk to the boat and is on the main street with plenty of cafes and shops nearby. The room rates are very good for venice and I would have given it a 4 rating except for the lack of air conditioning.
The location is fantastic! You can go nearby beach and boat station by walk in 5 minutes. Beautiful locality, roads, scenery, flowers, restaurants. Really peaceful. Inside hotel, there is nothing special, just normal clean room and beautiful view from window.
Stayed here with my boyfriend for a week in August and we had a great time. The location means you can enjoy the benefits of a beach holiday with a city break just 10 minutes away by water bus. The rooms are basic, as you would expect for the price, but anyone who wants to spend time in their hotel whilst in Venice is doing something seriously wrong! The hotel is really close to the waterbus stop and the staff are happy to advise on routes if needed. It's also very close to a supermarket to stock up on essentials. Thanks for a great stay!
Hotel Reiter is not the fanciest, or smartest hotel in Venice. Nor is it one with historical significance, but it is incredible value for money. Clean, tidy rooms, which are large by any standard. Old but sufficient en suite bathrooms and comfortable beds. Hotel Reiter is a short walk, maybe 300 meters from the water bus station. So convenient to everything. A short water is ride, which is enjoyable, to any part of Venice. Last week, was our third time staying at Reiter, and our seventh time in Venice. Friendly and helpful owner/manager and staff, great restaurants just outside all the way up and down the road ensure varied and reasonably priced real Italian food. And of course several get ice cream shops, not to be missed. Again, a great place and good value. We will stay there again and again.
The best place to rest in Venice !! All clean, nothing disturb us, the food good, the neighbours good. The beach is a 200m from the hotel and to the another way the ferry station. Thank you for the service, see you next time!!
Couldn't ask for a better accommodation for the money we spent. We had a clean, nice room with a bathroom and TV. It's perfectly located, 5 mins walk to the station and to the beach, next to many shops, caffes and restaurants. Very nice staff, possibility to leave the luggage after the check out.
