Hotel was great. Bed was comfortable. But I needed to get some work done and the wifi was unusually slow. I had difficulty just sending and receiving emails. I stay in lots of hotels and am pretty confident that this issue was due to the wifi at this hotel. Eventually I had to give up and finish my work the next moring at a coffee shop. Other than that the hotel was comfortable and a good deal.
Old, dirty, rat, poor condition, breakfast is not good.
This was an older building and the room was quite small. It was a $30 cab ride from the airport and a $7 cab to the cruise ship. The staff were exceptional, giving us directions to dining venues. There was a nice Pub next door with sandwiches. Hotel was within walking distance of Over Vancouver attractions, many restaurants. Hotel stored our luggage after check-out so we could tour around prior to our cruise.
We enjoyed our stay here. Wish they had a better parking arrangement. I thought online it said that parking was free, but we had to pay to park in a parking garage.
All the hotel personnel were very helpful. The room was small for a 2 full size beds. A refigerator would have been nice since we stayed for 4 days. The free breakfast was excellent with a lot of choices. Hotel is convenient to the public transportation however ,its located next to a homeless shelter , so we saw a lot of them around the area.
Hotel Ramada has a very good location. It is walking distance to Chinatown, a park, and the cruise port.
I based my selection of this hotel on the good reviews of the hotel but was very disappointed. In reality, I lost a good part of my vacation and money. The 2 good points of the hotel are its staff and location. The BIG problem of the hotel is the physical condition of the place. The staff is doing what it can but the place is falling apart. Our initial reaction was the place was of shock and requested if we could be assigned another room if possible, which the staff said they would do. The hallway to the room smelled. The reviews had said that the room was clean, which based on what we saw, it was hard to imagine how that could have been possible. The carpet was stained, the lamps bent and insufficient, the arrangement haphazard with old furniture, wall paper and paint. We dreaded the approaching breakfast the next as it was in the basement. BUT, we were pleasantly surprised that it was excellent, efficient and consistent during our stay. Also, the next day, we moved to another room and the staff moved our bigger bags. The hallway again smelled, but this time of different, odors. The room was marginally better but had similar haphazard arrangement with old furniture. One area in the washroom had a particular smell which I could not place till the next day when it clogged. As I had no intention of using the plunger on my vacation, I am glad the hotel staff took care of it. I cannot suggest, even mildly, packing a plunger to anyone planning a vacation. I did not bother asking for a transfer to another Ramada facility as the rating for the other facility was even lower.
The hotel was great - bed exceptionally comfortable - but no good parking - our car was broken into - window smashed etc. Car was in a parking garage across the street - might have been better if used their valet parking - our car was a target - had lots of stuff in it.
Good place to stay when leaving for a cruise the next day.
very reasonably priced....clean rooms...courteous staff
everything is perfect except the bed sheet is kind of wet! I don't know why it is moisture... But anyway, like this hotel.
I only needed a place to sleep (great bed) and free breakfast (serviceable). 10-minute walk to the convention center. If you want more or are easily turned off by less than mint condition bathrooms, look elsewhere. There's a great used bookstore next-door, too!
Great location: 4 minutes walk to Granville/Waterfront SkyTrain station (30 minutes to airport for $2.75); minutes walk to everything: harbor embankment, Canada Place, 4 shopping centers, Cathedral, Library, Robson square (beatiful!), Gastown. Complimentary breakfasts are good. Staff is friendly. Cons: rooms are small, neighbourghood is noisy until 2 am (downtown + homeless shelter nearby). We had to sleep with earplugs. Advices: 1. Vancouver Art Gallery is a waste of time and money - better go to Art gallery on Howe (free). 2. Go to Van Dussen botanical garden first (SkyTrain station Oakridge & 41st)- your ticket will be valid for conservatory in Queen Elizabeth park.
The outside is not much to look at. The inside is great. The room was small but who cares? The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice Continental Breakfast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was good. Would stay there again in a heart beat.
nice staff always！！！the bed is a little small but nice location，it just take 5 minutes from this hotel to Pacific centre and skytrain
Very friendly arrival and nice stay! The room has everything I.need.
loved the hotel, beds were comfy, staff was pleasant and helpful, the hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from shopping areas on granville and 15 minutes away from waterfront, quiet and peaceful at night - definitely staying here again if ever in Vancouver BC - for the younger crowd (around 25) ask the bell guy where to go, he was nice and knew the area well
The hotel was great, it was clean and the staff was great even though I didn't arrive until almost midnight from the train they had me checked in and settled in no time.
This hotel is located within walking distance to just about everything. I was a bit uncomfortable about some of the surrounding area, but overall, the location was great. The rooms were small, but clean. The staff was great--more than willing to help with anything!
The hotel was clean although it has some funky smell in hallways and rooms. Breakfast is ok. Location is not so good. Lots of homeless people around.
