It was away from city center and therefore quiet, especially on the back deck overlooking the city. We had a streetside room so opening the window in the morning was not a good idea. The staff was very helpful.

Surely you can find better opt for the same price

Very old house, common areas were renovated but rooms are just painted. Bathroom cleanliness was not ok. I spent Eastern weekend, and heating was off. It is not soo cold in Chile yet, but the old high roof room was cold during night. Breakfast, is mediocre. If you want eggs you have to specially ask the attendants for it, coffee not good although better than usual Chilean instantaneous coffee. Over priced for quality. It is not even located in the middle of Valparaiso most turistic area, although in a walking distance (12 mins downhill). Parking limited and badly organized. Probably will not staybthere again! Some of the staff was very friendly, others not at all.

Nice idea , not well executed

Beautiful renovated convent on high hill. Area around it was dirty , animal excrement & garbage on streets. Terrain rough . Hotel service was a 3 as was breakfast . Broken window shade, minimally movable drapes, only 1 water glass for 2 people., stained cheap towels . Small changes could have made a difference .

Great place to start your journey in Valpo

The hotel is located right above a great walking area during the day. If you’re coming to Valpo to experience the street art, this is a good choice. Some of the rooms have great sweeping views of the city next to the bed. A nice touch. Service was excellent, very friendly staff.

Very nice "boutique" hotel. Perfectly located for access to the best views of Valparaiso and for the primary tourist areas. Good to be away from the noise of the downtown area.

Our stay was very relaxed and productive. We received detailed information for whichever destination, or service, we requested and found our room clean and adequate. Breakfast was varied and ample. Ultramar is located on a hill, but buses go up there and we had a direct line few steps from Ultramar to Vina del Mar.

Fantastic place to stay

This hotel was fabulous. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. Wi-Fi is great and we felt at home. View of the ocean from patio is lovely

Great place!

This hotel is perfect, with a price tag to match. Views to the city and sea are stunning and the interior is new and stylish. The only lesser thing is the uphill hike to reach it. Get a cab or a bus, if you dont feel fit for it. The beautiful cerros are a walk away (this one downhill!) with loads of quality bars, cafes and restaurants. Lovely staff!

The staff was super sweet and friendly. Upon arrival, she told us everything we needed to know about how to get around. Location: It was in a fairly quiet neighborhood, a little further than I wanted to be from Cerro Alegre and where all the action was at, but a very cheap uber ride away. Room: the room was clean. One of the beds was too uncomfortable for my friend and smaller than we thought it would be, but seeing as how we didn't intend on staying in the room too much, it met our needs. Breakfast was simple, yet enjoyable. Ham, cheese, eggs, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, and this pastry my friend just loved! All in all, the hotel was quiet and well-kept.

VERY NICE HOTEL WITH A GREAT VIEW

I spent 5 nights at this hotel and was very happy with my room and the service. The breakfast was a self-serve but had a mixture of fruit, cereals, egg, cheese and cold cuts. There was also a plate of different cakes. I liked the idea of choosing where I wanted to sit to eat my breakfast. There were set tables in the dining area and one could take it all out on the patio while enjoying the great view of the whole bay. I loved that patio and one could sit there anytime to enjoy the view.

A Quaint Stay in Valparaiso

This is a quaint hotel overlooking the city of Valparaiso. It is walking distance to the artsy district which people flock to Valparaiso to see. The hotel is nice. Rooms are clean. The staff is nice and helpful. The room comes with breakfast and free on site secure parking. We had a good experience staying at this hotel.

Nice hotel, hard to find

Very nice, small hotel with friendly staff. Walking distance to many Valparaiso attractions. We drove rental car from Santiago and had a very difficult time finding it. Do not rely on GPS.

Excellent place to stay

This is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice and cosy, maybe a bit dated but still lovely. Pretty standard breakfast that seems to be served throughout Chile. The location is great, just a short downhill walk to bars, cafes etc. The only negative we had was the bed was pretty uncomfortable. A lot of roll together, could have just been our room.

It's a nice hotel. Well situated. The rooms are small but clean. The bed was OK... The walls are really thin and we could hear everything! But for the price it's pretty good.

Nice hotel

Good hotel, but maybe a bit thin walls as you could clearly hear people outside the room, including chatter from the reception. Not the biggest buffet for breakfast, but the things that were served were very nice.

Excellent spot for visiting Valparaiso

Staff greeting on our arrival was excellent - we received a map of the area with helpful information written/added on. The hotel only has approx. 20 rooms which made it feel as though you were staying in someone's house rather than a a hotel which we found charming. The breakfast room leads onto a veranda which has superb views over the coast. The bedrooms are comfortable and very clean as is the rest of the hotel. The staff were delightful and very hard working. The location is great as it is in a quiet area but within 10-15 minutes walking distance of a very good restaurant area. Although there is no restaurant, snacks were available until 8pm and there was a bar available until later. The hotel is tricky to find (we drove there) but then I think anything in Valparaiso is to a newcomer!
