This striking, rustic studio apartment for 2, La Casetta del Borgo, is in the charming village of Usseaux, which is recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. On the ground floor, with rough stone walls and arched ceilings, it is a unique property and makes an unusual base for a couple who want to explore this lovely region at any time of year.
The spacious open-plan living space is made up of a kitchen, dining room, seating area and bedroom. The furniture is an attractive combination of modern and antique pieces. From the entrance hall, a couple of steps lead into the kitchen/dining area. Here there is a dining table for 4 next to the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, microwave, fridge and an electric kettle. The seating area, furnished with a cosy sofa and a flat-screen TV, is on the other side of the room, next to a historic wooden manger.

The double bed is tucked around a corner, separated from the main living area by a book case.

There are some good restaurants in Usseaux, Fenestrelle and Pragelato. For self-catering there are several grocery stores within a 15-minute drive and the weekly market (Sunday mornings) in Pragelato where you can find fresh local ingredients.
