Nothing intrinsically wrong with this hotel, but generally it’s a bit worn round the edges and could do with an upgrade, particularly pool area on the top floor. Good points were the Executive lounge with good food and free wine in the evening, and a nice quiet spot for breakfast, worth upgrading to a club room for this perk. WiFi was also good and free again on club floors. Situated in a nice area with the best Supermercado on the doorstep, we felt it was a bit far from the action and you would need to take a bus or taxi to most of the interesting parts of Montevideo.
The service at the hotel was great and the club room upgrade is a must. Great breakfast, great afternoon snacks and drinks. Gym was nice. Location was great. Rooms are nice. Great value too. Nice views and pool
the good reliable comfy bed. great location in putta carrettas. easy access to most everything. staff were friendly and helpful. breakfast was adequate. hotel could use some updating as it is starting to show its age. but i would repeat as you know what you will get with the brand.
Stayed in a Starwood preferred guest room on the 16th floor with a beach view. Big room, comfortable bed, nice and clean, TV, minibar, safe, nice bathroom with over bath shower, toiletries and good linen. Two free bottles of water each day. You can access the shopping mall from a lift in reception where you can exchange money and get a local sim card. There are also lots of food outlets in there. Breakfast was good, lots of choice and didn't seem too busy. Used Uber all the time to get around. Got back in the room on our first night to find a bottle of champagne and some chocolates (very nice but not sure what for lol). Had a late checkout at no extra charge.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed over a weekend during a trip to Uruguay to break up our stay between MVD and the beach. The rooms were spacious and very clean and the kids loved the indoor pool on the top floor. The location is ideal close to punta carretas shopping center with an indoor access way to the mall which made things easy. The staff were super friendly, especially the wait staff (martin diego and patricia who were so sweet to the kids) and patricia who worked the breakfast new everyone's name after the first day. Would very much recommend this hotel!
After a disastrous stay at Renaissance Santiago (part same group) I switched back to Sheraton hotels when arrived in Montevideo. Staff: the friendliest and helpful staff in South America. What a delight to be treated as a valued customer. They should staff here to renaissance Santiago to show them how it’s done. The little touches from this hotel on arrival was very much appreciated Rooms: super clean with stunning views across the city. My only suggestion is that there should be sockets bedside table Bar: when I asked for cocktails not on the menu they were done to the highest standard I am very impressed with this hotel which also in a great location. Pool: shame it’s not outdoors, however beach was not that far away and facilities were good
Yes, it is a nice hotel but what are they thinking with their club lounge? While we were there it appeared to be more a children’s lounge than something one pays additional cost for. Club lounges generally have restrictions on children either entering or on behaviour. Maybe we were unlucky but, on at least 2 nights, it appeared to be a baby sitting service with children left in the lounge with children’s television blaring & no parent in sight. Other children were with parents but sat on a computer playing games. Our room was OK, reasonable size, pretty much stock standard Sheraton you would find anywhere in the world . Location was good as the hotel was attached to the Punta Carretas shopping centre. The area around was safe to walk around & to restaurants at night. Would I stay there again? No, I’d find a different hotel.
We (my wife and I) arrived in Montevieo last December 23. We stayed dor 7 nights in the Sheraton hotel, located in the attractive Punta Carretas neighbourhood, sided by the Punta Carretas Mall. In the front desk we were received by Maximiliano - a good guy, polite, but inefficient (I'll explain ahead). He gave us a room with a side bed wall socket dead. We, kindly ask him to send someone to fix the socket. It was around 8:00PM. We went out for dinner and returned around midnight and the problem wasn't been solved. Who solved definitively our problem was the concièrge clerck named JULIANO RODRIGUEZ who moved us to the 23th floor - Club Lounge - after noticed strong wind noise through the window on the 19th floor (the second option to replace the 16th floor room with the socket issue. It's very importanto to mention the attention of GUSTAVO (breakfast) and Karen (Club Lounge happy hour).
We always stay at the Sheraton hotel. Perfect location, wonderful service, always clean and silent. We get the club rooms, which have a small bar where you can have a drink at night and where breakfast is served in an intimate atmosphere. We also use the swimming pool with amazing views of Montevideo. A relaxing place. Perfectly located, surrounded by restaurants, near the sea and with a door opening directly to the shopping mall. The front desk service is always friendly and solve any problem or give you advice.
