What makes this hotel stay pleasant are the employees. The hotel grounds are nice although there was construction outside of hotel. The hotel connects to the mall next door which has restaurants, supermarket and numerous stores. During check in and check out Jesica was very helpful and told me about places to visit during my stay. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Pool was a good size. The indoor pool was heated and there are two hot tubs. The gym was not that big but was never crowded. At the bar downstairs Juan and Geraldo poured great drinks and where eager to share the history of Uruguay along with telling me places to visit. The breakfast was buffet style and I thought was great. Lots of choices no matter what your diet is. At breakfast Mariana and Virginia were very attentive always smiling while pouring my coffee. On the third Thursday of every month they have a special dinner and wine paring. I had a chance to attend this event thanks to Juan at the bar that told me about it. The chef has a special six course menu while it is paired by someone from the wine industry. The food was great the wine I was not crazy about. It does make for a fun night and a chance to meet the chef. Overall great stay here.
Stayed in this hotel for two weeks on business. I was well-taken care of by all of the staff. The room was more than comfortable and the gym was nice. I am giving 4 stars due to the gym not opening until 0630 and not being able to use it much in the afternoon. Of note: there is some construction going on around the hotel which can get rather noisy for those who are vacationers sleeping in. At one point I listened to a jackhammer for two hours in the late afternoon (never in the AM) and only once. Not in their control but still a distraction.
I recently had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Montevideo Hotel. Everything about the hotel is great - the location, the rooms, and the customer service. The entire staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. I would especially like to recognize Juliano from the concierge desk and Karen from the Club Lounge. It was my first time in Montevideo and Juliano helped me book tours and patiently answered all my questions about Montevideo. I would not have enjoyed Montevideo as much if it wasn’t for him. Karen at the Club Lounge always greeted me with the biggest smile and remembered my food and drink preferences from the first day of my stay. Her charisma is unmatched and truly makes you feel welcomed! The hotel is also connected to a huge shopping mall (with a grocery store) and a short cab ride from the main attractions. I can't wait to return to Montevideo and have another enjoyable stay at the Sheraton!
A recent business trip found me an extra week stay during hurricane Irma. The staff at the Punta Carretas Sheraton are the warmest and friendliest anywhere. They make you want to come back. They were very compassionate to our dilemma of not being able to return home until the danger had passed. Thank you staff! Breakfast is always a welcome treat. Buffet style lends much to choose from. Healthy Mediterranean style salads, to order eggs, fresh breads, fruits and juices, Canadian bacon and so much more. I also discovered wonderfully prepared delicious ceviche, thin crust homemade pizza, hamburgers etc. quite the eclectic menu for the world traveler. Keep up the excellent attitudes and service. Gracias.
Great hotel and in excellent location. Hotel is attached to a shopping mall and very close to many food locations. The only point of concern was the construction in the area, but its only temporary and a sign of growth. The hotel offers a great breakfast buffet and a fantastic fitness center and spa.
We stayed for 4 nights over 2 weeks during our visit to South America. Rooms are specious with good wifi and lovely views of the river. Breakfast was very good and staff are very friendly. You can access the Punta Carretas shopping mall from the hotel. As there was a chess tournament going on at the time, hotel was very busy and dinner option limited. However there are lots of lovely places to eat not far from the hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and it is always delightful. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The beds are soft and comfortable, rooms are large and spacious. I love the beautiful view overlooking the river. Breakfast is absolutely delicious! The hotel is located in a very nice area with a large grocery store/mall that you can directly access through the hotel. There are plenty of delicious restaurants and cute boutique shops within walking distance. Great location and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Montevideo.
I've been going to this hotel for many years. This time it was a disappointment .For start: There is NO valet to park your car.No matter the weather you have to walk a short distance to the Punta Carretas Shopping Garage.God forbid is near X-Mas or any other holiday. The rooms are in desperate need of a refurbishment.Everything is old and passé. The good thing is: location and good service. That will be all.
We stayed here for one night over a Saturday. We chose this hotel to move to a hotel outside of the Old City for one night. The hotel is modern and clean. There were no issues with our room or bathroom. The club lounge on the 23rd floor was modern and had a good selection of food and drinks at night. The breakfast is definitely more a local selection. But the continental selection items at breakfast were nice and the club attendants were very nice. The bar on the lobby is small, but had a good selection of wines. The two bartenders we had while there were very good. The hotel is attached to a shopping mall, so that was convenient. The construction people mention in prior reviews is nearly done. They are building an aLoft (SPG brand hotel) that is opening in the next week or so. The property is located in a more residential neighborhood and seemed to be a much cleaner neighborhood than the Old City. You can quickly walk to the oceanfront that has a couple restaurants to try or if you just want to walk along the water. WiFi worked just fine for us while there; we had no speed issues. I would definitely stay here again, but if you want more to do and see right in the immediate area ... then perhaps something in the Old City or other neighborhoods would be better.
with a group of executives we stayed several days and were so pleased of our decision.we were received at the check in desk in such a quick way.in a couple of minutes each one had his room (all of them with spectacular views of the coast and the city!!) .as our work started the next day, most of us went to the spa located on the 26th floor.what a wonderful experience!!excercise, sauna, jacuzzis, warm big swimming pool,....The restaurant downstairs has a complete amazing breakfast, great lunch and superb dinner. our meetings were on the 25th floor where we had cozy coffee breaks.the staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful, always ready to solve everybody's demands. thank you Sheraton!!
