Very nice hotel. Condo type feel with a full kitchen. Not a lot of extra amenities but very relaxing and a great price.
Crickets in room. Exterior of building needs repair.
We were disappointed, expected a better room for the price. The room Smelled like old cigarette smoke, my daughter shocked herself plugging in a plug on a loose outlet. They only left half a roll of toilet paper and only a couple of towels in the room. We were 2 adults and 2 kids staying in the room. We could not get internet connections even after following the directions, it showed as setup but we could not access anything. Someone was playing basketball from midnight til after 1:30 am when I finally went to sleep. Our room was just on the other side of the basketball court so we heard every dribble and basket. Luckily we were only in the room basically to sleep and not everyone needed a bath. We were considering staying another night but changed our mind after our experience. Much better choices in the area so we will pick another hotel next time. I have to say the air conditioning in the room did work very well and the full kitchen would come in handy for an extended stay, as long as they work well, we did not use any of them. Room needs to be repainted and carpet replaced to remove the old smoke smell. I am an ex-smoker and smell was bad to me.
Our stay was wonderful.. staff was wonderful.. clean and quite..
We were very impressed when we first pulled up. Beautiful property, looks like an apartment complex. The room was spacious and had a full kitchen. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Even with a full kitchen they have breakfast every morning and a social with food each weeknight. We were able to comfortably have 4 adults and 2 children for less than we would pay at most other hotels for 1 room. I still can't believe what a great deal we got. If you are going to Tyler definitely worth the price.
This hotel was wonderful, we had no problems what so ever. There were a few cleanliness issues but they were minor, some dust in the AC vent and dirty dishes in the dish washer. The wirelesss internet was not very good, paid the extra $9 and still could not connect. Other than these two issues our stay was great. I would recommend this Hotel to my family and friends without hesitation.
I loved this hotel. It was like being in a home. There was plenty of space, a full kitchen, living space, large bathroom with good counter space and even a fireplace. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were able to give me directions to all the places I needed to find. This hotel is close to both UT Tyler and Tyler Junior College. I will stay here again.
The room was very nice, clean and roomy. The staff was very nice, wonderful breakfast and the room had everything we needed.
I had a very positive experience at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Tyler. The staff was superb and friendly. The room was a little old looking, but it was clean and spacious. I would gladly stay there again. JW
When we arrived at the hotel the staff couldn't have been nicer. We weren't sure what to expect of the actual room since there were no pictures, but what we got was basically a nice sized studio apartment. Perfect for a long weekend like ours (visiting my family) -we'll definitely be staying here the next time we come back to Tyler.
Had problems finding the motel, as the name had been changed from Residence Inn to Hawthorn Suites. From the address, we finally decided this was the place. Was surprised, as it looked like it was a former apartment complex. Was very clean; breakfast was enjoyable; however, the room was warm on the first night; 2nd night, turned the thermostat down to 55 and unit ran all night and room was still very warm. Upon checkout on Sunday, told clerk about it and she then told us that maintenance was on call 24 hrs - wish we had known that earlier.
The stay was wonderful, I like their accommodations and I will be staying there again, unless another hotel gave offer me the same amenities. This is a home away from home. There is only one thing that I do not like and it is the phone services which one is charged for when making calls. They should think about changing the system in which they have.
The Residence Inn is the best motel/hotel that I have ever stayed in ! The room was large and the kitchen was nice. The best part is the breakfast , the food was excellent !!
The room was nice once you got in, but you had to walk between two pressure treated 4 x 4 posts that placed prop up a sagging second floor A/C room that traversed the walk. I noticed this on at least one other unit we passed. Maybe this will be a temporary solution to getting the problem repaired. Honestly, it was a bit spooky getting to the room after dark, due to the design of the pods, the shrubs and the lighting. This unit adjoined a strip mall parking lot from an elevated position and was very noisy the two nights we stayed. On a positive note, the people were extremely friendly with a genuine caring attitude, the place was clean and the A/C blew cold air and it was only a short walk to the steak house across the street.
