Original Sokos Hotel Seurahuone Turku

I stayed at Seurahuone only one night and unfortunately the first thing I noticed was that noise from trucks and buses was quite loud even when the room was situated on fifth floor. My two friends did not notice this in their room, so this is probably just to do with that specific room. Also, noise from elevator lobby woke me up in the middle of the night. Another thing that can be handled by requesting a room further away. Breack fast was good and staff very friendly.

The location of this hotel is good. Parking is just across the road, but you need to get a permission ticket from the lobby, before you park (or you need to walk back). The room is clean (superior) and fairly nice, but clearly out dated. Especially the bathroom needs badly an update. The bathtab is more like 1m high and it "takes climing skills" to get there and out (without untislip mat I was a bit worried) also the shower curtain doesn't do the work it should, so the floor is wet. They have renewed the toilet bin, but not the bathtub... I wonder why?! The breakfast is good and variety is fairly large, except when it comes to ham/turkey, they only offer the cheapest ones (and just halves!!!). The staff is friendly and the lobby is small and nice (refurnished) - I wish the main door would be too!

We took a train from Tampere to Turku, because it is most convinient way to travel at wintertime, unless you want to spend time in car at snowy roads. Once we arrived to hotel, the receptionist was polite and served us fast, while the reception itself was quite modest. At the point we made the reservation, we hoped to have room from upper floors, and that we would have also hardwood floors, well, these wishes were full filled. Room was pretty much kind of average level, bit worn out, but no drama anyway, and windows to the street side, triple windows dampened the noise from streets. Breakfast is good scandinavian quality breakfast, lots of things to choose, so that everyone can manage all the way to the lunchtime very well with it. Hotel is located one block away from Turku marketplace, where you can find the most popular shops, and it is also very near of pedestrian precinct, which means more shops. Because it is wintertime, the river Aura was frozen, (couple blocks away) but even covered with ice, it still provided nice walking moments to us at the riverbank, that are dedicated to walkers. In the summertime this riverbank would show up at much better light.

The staff was extremely friendly. Room was dated and really hot with only a fan. Curtains could not be drawn infront of the window and it was too bright for a good night sleep. Braekfast was ok, but bacon and eggs were not added for the whole half an hour I stayed at the breakfast. In addition to the staff, location was also great. Anyway, because of the standard of the room, I would not return.

This was basic hotel with great restaurant. Room was really basic and bathroom has shower curtain, which is dirty and the bar which hold the curtain, top of it was full of dust. Also window has some sealant problems. From air condition pipes you can hear people talking in next room. Also late check out was 10 euros per hour, which feels ridiculous. Same with parking around 15e per day. This kind of things in price of 100e or more room, has to have free parking and free late check out. Location was great and breakfast in the restaurant plus crew. But hotel building is not so great. If you just spend one night, fast visit in Turku, this might be the place for you, but for budget hotel you find much better ones almost at same location. And for little bit more than 100e you can find really nice high quality hotels middle of Turku central.

The hotel is confortable, rooms cleaned but not so big. The position is pretty to visit the town. The staff is nice and available . The quality/price ratio iis convenient and i cannot judge the breakfast since not included on my rate

Seurahuone is located within a walking distance from main attractions in Turku and also from the railway station. Our room was surprisingly spaceous and of older, classic style. Free WiFi. What pleased me the most was the service. Very helpful and nice staff.

Pluses: Friendly staff, spacious room, possibility of extra early breakfast from 6 a.m., good breakfast, good beds, rooms quiet on upper floors and facing the yard, plenty of parking space in nearby parking house. Minuses: bathroom needs modernization, not enough electricity outlets.

We arrived at the hotel a couple of hours before our room was supposed to be ready. Reception staff were extremely friendly: they asked the cleaning staff if they could ready our room first and then promised to send us an sms when the room was ready. We stepped out for an half on hour for some coffee and were pleasantly suprised to find that the room was ready. Excellent service! The hotel itself is a pretty basic Sokos Hotel. Room was clean and quite spacious, but nothing fancy. Our windows faced the street and there were some noise during the night. Breakfeast was qood as it mostly is in all Finnish hotels.

This is a charming hotel in the center of Turku. The style of the hotel is very classic (1920's) with antique furnishings in the room. The hotel staff is very friendly and as it's part of the Sokos chain, you can use the swimming pool of the other Sokos hotel in Turku when you stay here. This hotel also has a very nice sauna. Another plus was the excellent restaurant Sevilla on-site. They have a nice selection of wine and fresh seasonal food. The hotel breakfast buffet is also generous and delicious. I recommend this hotel for good value in the city center.
