This is the 5th guest ranch where we've stayed, and it was wonderful. We are riders and have our own horses, and we were really impressed with the way the horses were cared for and trained. I requested a change of horse after my first day because my horse wasn't keeping up with the rest, and my request was accommodated perfectly with a great horse the next ride--and a check in with me to ensure I was happy afterward. The wranglers were all helpful and just good people--the kind you enjoy spending time with when you are riding on a trail. We rode several times each day, with different scenery and experiences, including mountain rides, team penning (which was a blast), and an all-day ride into the Saguaro National Park. It was just great. The room where we stayed was spacious, had a nice tub for soaking after a day of riding, and included a refrigerator, comfy bed, indoor sitting area, and outside sitting area with a fireplace. The staff were all, without exception, genuinely engaged and gracious, responding to any requests that we had promptly and happily. The food was good; not gourmet, but there was a lot of variety for lunch and dinner, and the option of a hot breakfast made to order each morning was great. I'm not a big meat eater, so I appreciated the diversity in the offerings and the availability of many different options if I didn't want the meat. I plan to tell the riding organizations where I'm involved about this ranch, and how good it was for us. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have booked a return trip next year at the same time!

Well-trained, well cared for horses; comfy, spacious rooms in hacienda style; great hot tub and pool (except for the awful music which, oddly, couldn't be turned off or volume lowered) in a desert setting. Riding is the primary activity and White Stallion is a good choice for those who want some riding as well as lots of free time -- most rides are an hour or slightly longer and are offered twice a day. There are longer rides every day or so. Loping is permitted only on ranch land which limits rides. The terrain, while beautiful, is largely desert and small peaks so the riding is either flat or up/down hill. {other ranches i've been too have had longer morning and afternoon rides with more variety in terms of gait, rider expertise and overall environment.} The staff is friendly and helpful and activities run on time. Facilities are clean and well laid out so that everything is a short walk but there is privacy and views too. As others have mentioned, the food could be improved, especially the coffee. Breakfast was the best with lots of cooked-to-order options while lunch and dinner always had something pretty good but nothing to rave about. Desserts were uniformly bland and dry.

I had an incredible time. I attended with some 36 other people that week. I would certainly go again with a group, alone, or with my husband. I'm not a "horse person." But everyone was great with me. I had a wonderful horse. I had to be more assertive than I wanted, but that's between her and me. The food was abundant. There was happy hour which was great. The evening entertainment was lovely, but sometimes I went to bed early. We did have a miscommunication over the "special meal" the first night and when I reported it within an hour, they offered to cook me anything on the spot. Very apologetic. And every meal after that was completely aligned with my special meals. Whether I ate on a ride or in the dining room. I borrowed a water bottle and helmet for the duration of my time. (They provide water in the saddles in the summer.) They took photos with our phones for us. They had good wifi. The rooms had locking screen doors so I could have a breeze at night. And shutter for additional privacy as needed. I also did laundry and the facilities were adequate and well maintained.

We first came to the ranch when our kids were young, and this year we were joined by our son's wife and our daughter's fiance. It is the perfect vacation - a great staff (at all levels), beautiful facility, awesome horses, and delicious food. We simply never grow tired of coming back and seeing dear friends, as well as making new ones. It is fun to meet new guests who are enjoying their trip as much as returning guests do. Everyone - guests, staff, and horses - are kind and friendly, whether you are traveling as a family or taking a solo adventure. It has always been a special place for our family, and we look forward to many visits in the future.

I wanted to visit a ranch out west and after researching all of the options we decided on this ranch. The past reviews are a little hard to believe because everyone rates this place so highly. My wife and I and another couple couldn't of been more pleased. The other couple took a lesson on the day we arrived since they had little experience. Everyone at this ranch and I do mean everyone are extremely pleasant. The rooms are beautiful and designed in a rustic/western theme. The food was excellent from appetizers to dessert. My wife is picky but had no problem finding something to eat. The horseback riding and scenery was great. The wranglers are interested in you and your experience. I rode twice each day but on the last day decided to ride four times. Two slow rides and two fast. We left yesterday and I miss riding already and can't wait to go back. None of us could think of a single negative thing to say about the ranch. We met people there who have been there more than thirty times. That should say it all.

This was my second visit to the ranch and it certainly won’t be the last. This place is amazing. The people are so nice and the atmosphere is amazing. The rides are wonderful and I love the fact that you get to ride the same horse during your stay. The food is wonderful too. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the ranch. Be prepared: you will not want to leave!

Was back again in October for my 3rd trip to WSR. It was just as magical this time as it was the first time I came. When you leave the main road and head onto the ranch the "real world" slips away. There isn't much more I can say beyond what I've said in previous reviews for WSR. 5 stars all the way once again. Staff, wranglers, food, accommodations, all superb. This year I spent time each day after riding giving my horse, Huckleberry, a nice, cool bath. He loved it and the horse cookies he got for being such a good boy. If you have a chance to do this it's worth it and your horse will love it! Something new I tried this year was Barrel Racing lessons with Alice. So much fun and she's a great teacher. Try this if you can. Team Penning is still one of my most favorite things to do at the ranch and staying for a full week you get the opportunity to do this three different days. Meeting guests from all over the world is always fun so take the time to get to know someone new. You'll make new friends and that's part of the experience at WSR. Have already booked my next trip for November 2018!

My husband and I decided to go to a dude ranch for our 50th anniversary -we travel a lot and this seemed like something a little different from our usual adventures. We were blown away by the whole experience. The owners and all the guests were amazing -guests from all over the world and extremely friendly. Neither one of is what you would call horseback rider, but a few lessons and we were off loping thought the desert. The resort is extremely well kept, food was great, and lots of fun options every day. Entertainment every night - we loved this place and want to go back again.

The White Stallion Ranch is a beautiful, peaceful oasis in the Tucson desert with a gorgeous view of Safford and Panther Peaks and a wide vista of saguaro and other native cactus. The rooms have all been recently been remodeled, as has the pool area, and it would be difficult to find a more comfortable, welcoming place with great staff, amazing horses and guests from all over the world. Lots of interesting activities aside from riding and fun and educational shows in the evenings (the Critter Show is fantastic!) Loved the food and the ambiance in the honor bar where you will make new friends for life and possibly reunite with them down the road at the ranch. Off-ranch attractions like the Desert Museum are nearby and the historical town of Tombstone is a great day trip. Prior to going to the WSR we researched other ranches and found this one to be the absolute best value for the money. We've heard from other guests who have stayed elsewhere that this is true!

Given that this was my 9th visit to White Stallion Ranch I suspect that the number of return visits would say it all. A lot has already been said by me (see my previous reviews) so finding something new to say can be a challenge. I’m therefore going to focus on something different after the usual summary. The ranch was up to its usual high quality in relation to the welcome received, the attentiveness of the staff, the food served, the riding available and the entertainment on offer. The rooms are kept clean, as is the surrounding area. The pool is a wonderful area to relax in and the bar a great gathering area in the evenings before dinner. As something different in the review I’m going to talk about the scenery and the opportunity to take some stunning photos. After 9 visits to the ranch I am still in the position where I can come back with new and wonderful photos that provide more than just a memory. Just walking around there is the opportunity for some excellent close up and panoramic photography that will amaze your friends. With patience there is even greater opportunity for truly stunning photos and with a few additions to a standard SLR kit (tripods, some special effects lenses etc) then what you can record is truly special. Yes the main reason to come is for the riding and the friends you will make, but there is so much more that the place can offer, and wonderful photos is just one of the bonuses you can get here.
