We loved the historic hotel. Definitely would stay there again. What could they improve? Improve the draw in the beautiful library fireplace. We loved the real wood fire but there was a definite smoky smell in the room. Fix the draw to be perfect.

Recently sold. Food in main dining room has slipped in quality. Waiter looked at plate with 80% of the dish uneaten, said he hoped we enjoyed it and cleared. Also, menu on website is not the menus at the hotel. Rokey

The property itself is lush and beautiful. The room was comfortable, clean, and relaxing. I dined at the restaurant and ordered a hamburger and fries, along with a creme brulee to enjoy later in my room. Unfortunately, a few hours later, I experienced stomach cramps and became unwell, which was due to the hamburger and fries. I had been looking forward to that sweet treat. But left the creme brulee in the refrigerator untouched as I did not want to get any sicker. This discomfort prevented me from sleeping soundly. I am uncertain if the food was somehow contaminated or if proper hygiene practices were not followed.

Great property, beautiful grounds. Very attentive staff. The library is wonderful as well. Wish there was more chairs to sit in on the grounds. Clustered in pairs and we had 3 people. Air conditioning could have worked better and the room is in need of an upgrade, but it was large and comfortable. Let’s see what Steve Kerr and the new group can do for this beautiful, historical and charming property.
