General Bragg Inn and Suites

Pretty Good

The hotel is in a quiet location but you still have access to dining areas. You can tell it is a newer hotel and the rooms are nice for the price. I had a late check in and the staff did not seem very happy about that. The bathtub still had hair in it. When I pulled back the sheets on one of the beds I found a small bug and the fitted sheet had crumbs on it. The walls are very thin.

Express Inn and Suites Trion

Can't beat the price!

I am writing this review because I feel others reviewers have given this motel a bad rap. My daughter and I were in town for the World's Longest Yard Sale. I arrived to find the parking lot recently resurfaced and the outside of the building freshly painted. I arived an hour early, having purchased my room online, and was given a room immediately. The owner and his wife spoke broken English, but I could understand them O.K. The room was large enough, the door locks worked, the AC was freeze-your-butt cold, The cable TV and remote worked, we had plenty of fresh towels, the bed linens were old but clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. We were missing a hair dryer but gained a refrigerator, which was fine. And this motel allows pets, which is the main reason we decided to stay here. We were not overcharged for our room, we didn't expect the motel to supply us with any additional cords to play video games on the Cable TV, we only stayed overnight so we didn't need room service, and there wasn't a roach in sight. And for $55 a night I don't expect the cereal to be fresh or the coffee hot. I have saved enough by staying there to eat at Wendy's right down the block. Honestly, I think we got a great deal. By the time the motel pays for air conditioning, cable TV, water, gas to heat the water, someone to clean the room, and replace anything their guests stole, their profit margin is very small. This motel provides the basic necessities at a reasonable price. If you have ever slept at an older motel near a beach, this one is no different. Don't let the nay-sayers scare you off.
