The meeting rooms are the most affordable in all of Toronto East and the parking is included. We had 2 people coming in from out of town and two from Toronto. The meeting room was simple but suited our needs. The staff were pleasant. We came in the night before our meeting and met friends at the Keg for dinner - a 5 minute drive away. The king bed room was small, clean and comfortable. There was some construction going on in the hotel and loud fans in the hallway, but it didn't interfere with the room comfort or the meeting room. The breakfast was not worth it -recommend going out for breakfast. There is a breakfast place -The Markham Station or Starbucks not far away. Not luxury but affordable and comfortable for business.
Room was clean and in good repair. Smelled good. Free breakfast included hot and cold and unlimited amount. Pool was okay but hot tub was lukewarm. Service was adequate, efficient, and polite. Didn't need anything extra
The hotel just has been refurbished room, lobby and pool nice and clean. Nice staff let us check in an hour early. Very average breakfast no fresh fruit. Beds and pillows are average . Easy to find its right off the 401. No problems with wifi
Lovely staff and hotel Very helpful with our little one Can't fault them very clean and smoke free Very central in China town txt also close by Free breakfast which was so nice and free tea and coffee all day
I moved a chair in the lobby across the floor in order to sit with my business associates who were occupying 2 chairs, 1 each. This was a large lobby with only 4 chairs in total. The General Manager himself namely Jit Tanna approached me and said these words "do I come into your house and move the furniture around". WOW! how rude. He then tried to explain that the last time someone moved a chair they broke the chair. I was upset and told him that I no longer with to talk to him and he would not leave me until I insisted to be left alone. Because of my work I am very familiar with the use of hotels and have never experienced this odious behaviour before. I suggested that he could have politely asked me not to move it again. I also frequent many Travelodges and have always enjoyed it. This experience has cause me to NEVER USE TRAVELODGE AGAIN. I was there for a business meeting only and did not stay overnight.
Was looking for something in the east end on a last moments notice and decided to go with this option based on the location, free parking and price point. Wasn't disappointed in the slightest; room and bed were much better than expected and got the rest I needed overnight. Didn't make any use of the amenities but having those options available were nice as well.
Stayed at Travelodge in my recent visit to Toronto. I'm quite impressed. Not a fancy 'First Class' place but if you're looking for the basic amenities with hygiene, this seems to be a very good deal. Staff was very helpful. They were flexible with all my requests. Rooms seems to be a little old. I'm happy with the price I paid and what I received. Stayed at room 424 and most importantly the bathroom was very clean. Good breakfast but would've been better if they change the menu frequently. Located very close to the highway so convenient for traveling. Ample parking space if you have your own vehicle. Looking forward to stay there again soon in my next visit to Toronto.
There were 2 women on the front desk when we checked in. I felt like we were bothering them by checking in. The one who checked us in was less than hospitable or friendly. She was getting frustrated with the computer while trying to check us in and made it quite obvious she was mad. When my friend asked the other staff member how far a restaurant was that we had reservations at, she just said "oh I don't know". They advertise a free continental breakfast. We went down at 8:45 and the coffee urn was empty, there was maybe 2 sausage links and a teaspoon of scramble eggs that had been there for quite awhile. We had to go to a restauarant for breakfast as the only thing we could have had there was cereal or toast. We have been to other hotels that offer a continental breakfast and were very happy with the selection and the freshness of the food. Needless to say, we won't return to a Travellodge hotel.
The reception was efficient after the tour bus checked in. The room was clean. Plenty of hot water. Bed firm to hard. Wifi free but had trouble loading internet sites. No coffee maker the first night. Bathroom was just renovated - door stuck on new tiles. Hook coming out of back of bathroom door. Shower curtain rod anchors were loose. Toilet need to be shimmed. Free breakfast included cereals, bagels, bread, sausages, eggs, waffles (toasted).
Well, the good side is that it isn't very expensive. The downside, is the place is quite run down. The rooms need to updated, the bedding and pillows were very ragged. The mattress was also very lumpy and uncomfortable. There was a bit of a musty smell. I was also very concerned each time I was in the elevator as to whether the doors would open! Attached to this hotel is a Shoeless Joe's restaurant and bar. This place is also rather run down. We went to order a beer and were informed that we should avoid the draft as many patrons had sent it back because it tasted "funny". Not a place I would recommend but at the time there weren't a lot of vacancies in the area. Not the best place but if you have a choice for a different hotel I would take it.
