We were passing through Scarborough and needed a cheap place for the night We booked through Hotwire and got a low price, almost half of the walk up rate and thought we did well. When we checked in the front desk was not very helpful and the elevator was filthy dirty the hallway not much better. I will admit the entrance to the room looked newly renovated, tile and the bathroom also looked to newly redone and clean. The rest of the room, not so much. It's hard to describe, but the carpet in the rest of the room did not look clean and it did not smell clean. (I admit it's hard to describe what clean smells like, but you know it when you smell it). The sheets were short, so we were sleeping partly on the mattress cover. The thing that did it for me, was at check out, I was ready to tell them my issues, and as I approached the front desk, the clerk snapped at me, "just wait a minute" I won't be back, EVER! So why did they get 2 stars?, it was a cheap place to stay.

First off let me say that when I booked this hotel direct there was nothing said about a $100,00 security deposit above the cost of the nightly rate. We were told this was a pre-authorization to my credit card that would be reversed in three or four days. We have stayed at many Travelodge's and not one has done this. When we checked out the front desk staff still wanted to put this on my bill. Only when I refused did they put my credit card through for the room only. There were two of us and there was only one wash cloth and hand towel in the room. When I asked for another set of towels and was cloths they brought POOL TOWELS for us. As for the indoor pool no one used it the whole weekend it smelled so strong of pool chemicals. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Reasonably clean. King bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Shortcomings: Towels were thin and worn. The front entrance is stark with 6-7 cement steps up to the door and no ramp for wheeling a suitcase. Additional street-level directional signs for Milner Court and the hotel site would have made it easier to find (having missed the smallish exterior sign on the south side of the hotel on initial approach).

We're not overly picky people, however for the price, there are certain things we expect to find in a hotel and the room itself. We were definitely disappointed. The Good: - The room was relatively clean - Room had a fridge - Pool and hot tub were great! - One staff member was friendly and helpful The Bad: - Most of the other staff were quite unhelpful (example: we asked for recommendations on a nearby sports bar and the employee answered with "no idea"..) - The room smelled musty - The bed was very hard, had limited blankets and very small pillows - The workout room was closed and being used as a storage room - The pool towels were basically rags, full of holes - There were two pieces of cardboard on the ceiling in our bathroom, being held up by tacks, to cover giant holes in the ceiling. Also the tacks kept falling out so we had to be quite vigilant in the bathroom as to not step on any - No alarm clock in the room - One of the lamps did not work - Only one bedside table The complimentary breakfast was decent as far as continentals go (bread, bagels, muffins, waffles, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, coffee, tea, juice). However definitely a flip of the coin as to whether food was actually cooked, or the toasters were working.

The meeting rooms are the most affordable in all of Toronto East and the parking is included. We had 2 people coming in from out of town and two from Toronto. The meeting room was simple but suited our needs. The staff were pleasant. We came in the night before our meeting and met friends at the Keg for dinner - a 5 minute drive away. The king bed room was small, clean and comfortable. There was some construction going on in the hotel and loud fans in the hallway, but it didn't interfere with the room comfort or the meeting room. The breakfast was not worth it -recommend going out for breakfast. There is a breakfast place -The Markham Station or Starbucks not far away. Not luxury but affordable and comfortable for business.

Room was clean and in good repair. Smelled good. Free breakfast included hot and cold and unlimited amount. Pool was okay but hot tub was lukewarm. Service was adequate, efficient, and polite. Didn't need anything extra

The hotel just has been refurbished room, lobby and pool nice and clean. Nice staff let us check in an hour early. Very average breakfast no fresh fruit. Beds and pillows are average . Easy to find its right off the 401. No problems with wifi

Lovely staff and hotel Very helpful with our little one Can't fault them very clean and smoke free Very central in China town txt also close by Free breakfast which was so nice and free tea and coffee all day

I moved a chair in the lobby across the floor in order to sit with my business associates who were occupying 2 chairs, 1 each. This was a large lobby with only 4 chairs in total. The General Manager himself namely Jit Tanna approached me and said these words "do I come into your house and move the furniture around". WOW! how rude. He then tried to explain that the last time someone moved a chair they broke the chair. I was upset and told him that I no longer with to talk to him and he would not leave me until I insisted to be left alone. Because of my work I am very familiar with the use of hotels and have never experienced this odious behaviour before. I suggested that he could have politely asked me not to move it again. I also frequent many Travelodges and have always enjoyed it. This experience has cause me to NEVER USE TRAVELODGE AGAIN. I was there for a business meeting only and did not stay overnight.

Was looking for something in the east end on a last moments notice and decided to go with this option based on the location, free parking and price point. Wasn't disappointed in the slightest; room and bed were much better than expected and got the rest I needed overnight. Didn't make any use of the amenities but having those options available were nice as well.
