Howard Johnson Hotel Toronto Yorkville

Overall it wasn't bad. Great location and cheaper than all the other hotels. We did not do much at the hotel other than sleep and shower. This is not the place to go if your looking for a nice hotel. If your looking for something cheap and in close proximity to public transportation and some shopping, it's perfect. Staff were nice. The room needed a thorough cleaning but was not horrible.

terrible experience and uncomfortable. Avoid this hotel

Perfect location for my needs Run down in need of major overhaul

The hotel is run down but clean with a good bed and terrific price. They plan to tear it down in the near future so it hasn't been updated and there are no amenities. However, it is in a fantastic location and a terrific bargain with a Whole Foods and indoor mall next door. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

This hotel is located very close to Yorkville so the location is perfect. Yorkville location with cheap rates. The place isn't fancy but it's clean and the staff is helpful. Perfect for our need since we basically are out the the room all day and return to sleep and shower.

The hotel itself is a little dated, especially the amenities of the rooms. However the price was right and the location is great for the price. It's a block away from the ROM and an easy 5-10 minute drive from the entertainment district.

Very good location. Very helpful staff. Basic amenities, but a good place to stay.

I've stayed here twice and I've never had a problem. The room is basic but clean. For Toronto, though, the price doesn't get any better. The location is perfect and much better than staying east of Yonge Street. I know the city very well and this location has the advantage of being close to the student vibe of the Annex where there are many good bars and restaurants. That's much preferable to being in the Financial District or east of Yonge, which aren't areas conducive to walking and exploring. The front desk staff were incredibly nice. A great value!

The location is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Very convenient. Close to things we wanted to do. Bare-bones amenities but very reasonably priced for that neighborhood. Free wi-fi and coffee 24/7 were a plus.

The room was old and outdated. It look like the 80's. Old tv and no ventilation fan in the bathroom. Not trying to be gross, but there was a white liquid substance dried on the head board. Sorry but it needed to be said. The hotel is in a decent location and it's in the city where you can walk everywhere.

The hotel location is very good. The hotel itself is a bit grim. There are marks on the walls. However, the staff are very nice and helpful.

This place was just o.k. Room was big and staff somewhat helpful. The truth is everything was great with one real exception - the breakfast was god awful. If you stay here it's worth going next door to the Whole Foods.

The hotel was clean, peaceful and quiet. A very pleasant experience.

I went to Toronto only for tourism, so I knew I would not be spending much time in the hotel. I would return to the hotel only during the nights with my boyfriend, it was perfect for our budget. The bed was made and relatively comftorable, and we had a shower and access to clean towels whenever we needed and that's all I could ask for in a hotel. Also, the parking at this hotel was cheap and convienent. The hotel staff was friendly also. Not the best hotel I've ever stayed in, but I can't complain since it was a good price.

Went to medical appointments and did some shopping, while I was there. The room had comfortable beds, but had too few electrical outlets to plug in things like curling irons. The walls and carpet were stained. The hotel is in a perfect location for shopping and sight seeing. The trip worked out well because it was easy to get to places by taxi. I would stay at this hotel again mostly because of the price and location.

Very clean bur a bit outdated!

Was in town for fanexpo and chose to book here when the con rooms filled up. Staff consisted of various guys more interested in talking on their cells than actually addressing you. Rooms were clean, but have seen better days. Pillows were rock hard. Internet was fast, location is about 3 blocks from the subway. Won't stay here again. Much better places to crash for not much more money.

The staff were hard to understand and not very helpful. They argued with me over something that they were clearly wrong about. The room was very average, the blind was broken, hanging down at a 45 degree angle, I rang front desk upon arrival to room and no one ever came to fix.

Hotel advertised luxury and pool. No luxury,no pool. Great location - in a very upscale area - inexpensive hotel, but don't expect anything but VERY basic beds (quite thin, but new, mattress; pillows from my childhood (and I'm 57), and a ridiculous bathroom.
