The gal at the front desk seemed like she didn't want to be there. She was leaning on the counter and had her phone out. She didn't tell me about my IHG chick in points. Breakfast was pretty decent though. A little messy..
Let me start off by saying that I've been an IHG Rewards Club member for many years. Prior to my recent retirement I spent roughly 150 nights per year in hotels all across the country. This was the eleventh night of a five week road trip and hotel number ten of sixteen different hotels we stayed in. Good size room and good size bathroom with a nice shower, but the toilet seat is loose. The TV was good as was the internet. Comfy bed and pillows. The front desk girl was too serious, not friendly. Hotel is close to gas station and restaurants. The breakfast was good but no butter. Dirty tables in the breakfast room and trash on the carpet, I had to change my seat because it had syrup on it. There were no pancakes. The machine said, "load bag". I went to talk with the lady at the counter and she said, "It is not my job, but I will do what I can." She then saw the lady that works on breakfast and she said that the machine was not working. Printer not working in the business center. Lady at the front desk said, "It has not been working for few days." I couldn't print what I need to print and lady at front desk did not offer the service. The hotel is across the street from a truck stop.
We stayed at the HI Express on July 3. The motel is across the street from a truck stop, so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room opposite of this. Relatively easy to get to regarding the highway system (which also made it noisier). Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was pretty standard hotel fare.
Our family spent two (2) nights here for a youth soccer tournament. The hotel was selected by the team manager. Although close to the highway, not sure this neighborhood is a great family location. The woman working the front desk in the evening at check in was efficient if not friendly. At the time, there were some people in the parking lot and lobby that were less then desirable. However, the staff working the front desk during the day were nice and the woman working the breakfast buffet was very nice and personable. Lobby, hallways and rooms were average and dated. Room was reasonably clean although it felt damp, even with the air conditioner running. Although they advertised a "good night kit" in the elevator and on the walls, when my wife inquired about this the front desk clerk had no idea what it was. At least one (1) family in our group checked out after the first night to stay at a different hotel. All in all, there are many better locations in greater Toledo with new or newer hotels in a similar class (HIE, Hampton Inns, Hilton Garden, etc.) that we have stayed at in the past three (3) years. I would definitely opt for those and would not stay at this property again.
Good location in the north part of town. Typical HIE amenities (Good), PLUS you can ask this particular property for a 'Good Night Kit' to get an eye mask, ear plugs, calming lotion and sleepytime K cup tea. Loved that extra perk this franchise owner is offering!
This Holiday Inn Express is a great location close to main highways. Room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The staff is very friendly, specially the lady looking after the breakfast area. This was our second visit and intend to stay there again when we return.
Reserved months ahead so we were sure to have a room. Easy check in, desk checkout at four something the next day. Close to two breakfast places, one fast food. Needed to stop at department which was right there, too. One or two blocks off the freeway, two more blocks from traffic on a dead end road. makes it easy as it's on the outskirts of the city; no through town travel. A gas station right across the road, if needed.
Great rooms, really comfortable place Rooms and facility got a great make over. I would recommend this hotel. Great location close to shopping and restaurants. Hotel is not far from Hollywood casino, made the trip during our stay it was about 10 minutes.
I am here for 4 days for business, training for my new job. My wife stayed the first 2 days, she's a hotel GM for a different chain. We were both very happy with everything from check in to check out! Clean spacious rooms, comfortable bed, nice shower and friendly staff including the house keepers. We'll definitely use again if in the area!!
We needed a room in Toledo for a few days, and to our surprise many hotels were completely booked. We were able to get a room at this Holiday Inn Express, with a jacuzzi in the bedroom. This was our first stay with HIE, and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice fitness room, and the woman who staffed the breakfast was so kind and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
