This is a beautiful traditional hotel and public bath very close to the temple. Quiet, clean, convenient, lovely.
Small rooms but it is Japan. Wish we could’ve gotten a bigger room
The staff at the ryokan are very kind and spoke great English! The ryokan is located in the heart of Asakusa, so the location is perfect - lots of shopping and eating nearby. My husband and I stayed for 1 night and had breakfast at the ryokan's restaurant. The breakfast was amazing. We stayed in a Japanese style room and the beds were made for us when we checked in. The bathroom in the room was very clean and nice. We would absolutely stay here again.
While the small room size and size of the bathroom take getting used to, the attentive staff, excellent Japanese breakfast, and wonderful Onsen make up for it! Try it for an introduction to Japanese style! The location is also tops for Sensoji Temple and Nikimase Street. ( 2 minutes). The staff provides helpful tips for day trips. A worthwhile adventure!
I was only in Tokyo for a few days but made an EXCELLENT choice in this ryokan/hotel. It felt very authentic (yet modern) without any of that awkward, forced “culture” that can sometimes be fed to unknowing tourists who are searching for something “really local”. It had all the right look and feel with a beautiful, comfortable room and a helpful/friendly staff. Can’t rate the place high enough.
