Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia-gai Tokyo had a decent location, about a 10 minute walk to the station and convenient for getting to Ginza and the Tsukiji Fish Market. The room was clean, modern, and small, but adequate for our needs. The bed was uncomfortable and felt worn out, and the pillows weren’t great either. The washroom was quite humid, even though we didn’t use the shower or bath, and there didn’t seem to be any ventilation. Surprisingly, there was no visible mold, so maybe it had been removed. Overall, it worked for a short stay, but the bed and humidity were drawbacks.

Very convenient location for the airport and metro stations for getting round. Easy walking distance for choices of restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff, who helped with our IC card and luggage shipments. Only slight negative is the room is a little dated.

The property is in next door to a construction site, and whilst I appreciate this is not something the hotel can control, there was no central air conditioning so we were advised by staff to open the windows which exposed the loud noise. The room was made up by staff while we were out and they took our towels but did not replace them so we were left without towels (which they didn’t correct). The room was also without amenities. We requested a late check out as we had a late flight and were told to reserve the room past 2pm we would have to pay for the next night even though we would not be staying the evening. They charged us Y6000 for a 2pm check out (whilst we were of course happy to pay a fee, this time was still inconvenient). Overall there was a 50% chance of staff being willing to assist when we had any questions about the hotel, while the others were extremely arrogant and rude. Would not stay here again.

Very good service. We asked staff to hold luggage’s before and after our stay due to the flight timing and check in timing. They were excellent and super helpful. Room was satisfactory. Public bath was very nice. The bathroom smelled slightly odd, perhaps due to the room being located under the public bath floor.

Good location, various metro lines all within a 10 min walk. Didn’t use restaurant for Breakfast but onsite facilities seemed quite limited(no bar/coffee shop for example). Rooms clean and well maintained.

Looks can be very deceiving. I booked this hotel as everything that I was looking for checked off my list. Listed under their amenities is that they offer air conditioning, but what they don’t mention and should be noted before booking the hotel is the fact that once winter hits, they only turn on the heating. They have control over the entire hotel’s heating/ac so you can’t really do anything to change it. When I did call for help, they could only offer to me the option to crack a window open which would’ve not worked out as I tend to get allergies. Having said that, my number one complaint is the fact that their bathroom smelled so much like mold. I only used it for the toilet bowl, and even their bidet looked pink and unclean. I also didn’t take a shower for I was afraid of what I could potentially catch there. I’m so relieved I only had to stay for one night, but never again. I would rather book a capsule if this place were my only option. Hell, I’d prefer to sleep outside.
